Loot Ninja Trivia

Trivia
Ok since I missed a couple of weeks since the last installment of Loot Ninja Trivia, here is a two-parter:

1 ) What video game franchise has the most stars in a video game series? This consists of celebrity voice actors in a video game series.

2) What has been the most popular Xbox Live demo to date with over 1 million downloads within the first month of the demo’s existence?

Germany looking to ban demo pods

Ban
Looks like truancy is a big issue in Hamburg, Germany and the state minister has decided there is a direct correlation between truancy and demo kiosks. He is asking for all demo pods to be turned off during school hours, which I think makes some sense but what about adults that would like to demo certain games during a lunch break?

The minister has stated that:

Truancy can be the beginning of a criminal career and that’s why we have to intervene. Not every truant becomes criminal, but criminals skipped school at one time or another.

Quite the profound statement! I also believe that criminals at some point in their lives have drank water, perhaps a ban on water?

Thanks Princess o for the tip.

PS Store video walktrough

The new and improved PS-Store has had many screenshots but now you can see the features of the faster, more fluid interface. Grace Chen demonstrates all the in’s and out’s of the new design.

I like how they plug their new GT5 Prologue dropping on the PSN April 17th.

Army of Two Gets Some Demo Love

Army of Two 1

As of April 1st, yes April Fool’s Day, you can expect a new Army of Two demo to wet your appetite. If you haven’t tried the game out yet and didn’t want to take my word for it that the game is fun, check out the demo and see for yourself. You will get to play the training stage and the first board, not bad. We can also look forward to some new maps and a new mode as DLC coming soon from our friends at EA.

Hit the jump for the official press release:

People all over the world have already joined the army of two…now is your chance to get in on the action.

On April 1st anyone who has not yet played ARMY OF TWO(tm) can team up to create the deadliest two-man military outfit a government can buy. In this free online demo, two people can play exciting co-op missions exclusively on Xbox LIVE(tm) Marketplace. In the demo, two players complete an intensive co-op training session before they are dropped into Somalia where they must work together to take out the local warlord.

Players engage in two-man tactics and boost their Aggro level to become the ultimate combat force that no enemy can withstand. ARMY OF TWO gameplay focuses on two-man missions, two-man strategies, two-man tactics and a two-man advantage to bring a new and groundbreaking gaming experience to players worldwide, online and offline. It captivates gamers with a politically charged storyline, centering on the impact and ethical issues of Private Military Corporations.

Starcraft II - Protoss Demo

Starcraft II looks to be setting the standard for next-gen RTS games again, just hearing the sounds of the buildings warping in and the Terran buildings landing envoke some serious memories of hanging out in a comp lab playing for hours. This game looks to have alot of the gameplay mechanics of the original, one concern I do have is if this new version will be treated as an expansion or a brand new experience, a lot of it does look just redone, but awesome!

The Protoss are by far my favorite race in Starcraft and I am looking forward to seeing the new and old units in action, the morale of this video is that Protoss Zealots > Human Marines. LOL

PS3 Tank Tech Demo

Tank Tech looks to be a pretty interesting game with a very unique use of the PS3 camera. I like how your artwork is imported into the actual game and you can even make your own unique levels to play on. I wonder what the limitations to the technology will be and how elaborate can I make my tank before the camera overloads? As someone who likes to draw and sketch, I am all over this one and think it has huge potential!

Age of Conan GDC: Character Creation Demo

Age of Conan is looking pretty sharp, here you get to see all the different options in the character creator mode. There are a ton of options to fully customize the facial features of your character, although a lot of the bearded faces look like Abraham Lincoln? They also show you the intro when you are first thrown into the world, I like how the first 20 levels will build up the story and then you can branch out into the world.

Ninja Gaiden DS gets a Sword Stylus

Dragon Sword StylusSo you thought the feather stylus that came with Zelda for the DS was sweet, I call shenanigans and present to you the Dragon Sword Stylus! Thats right if you pre-order your copy of Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword from GamStop now you get this pimp stylus, a pretty good deal for a pre-order. Between this and the Patapon demo disc with a pre-order, these have been the best pre-order deals I have seen in a while. Get yours in your hand on March 25 and get a chance to stab your DS.

Pre-order Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and receive a Ninja Gaiden Sword Stylus Free! Offer good while supplies last. Stylus will ship with the game for online customers. In store customers see stores for details.

DMC4 Demo - Berial Boss Battle

Ok so we gave you our overall impressions of the new Devil May Cry 4 demo, but a picture, well in this case a movie, is worth a thousand words. Here is the boss battle from the demo for those of you who haven’t gotten a chance to download the demo yet on your PS3 or Xbox 360. My main complaint is this guy didn’t use his guns!

Criterion won’t use Internet feedback to tune their game

Burnout ParadiseLooks like Criterion was not very happy with he criticism most sites gave the new Burnout Demo, including this one. Alex Ward, Criterion creative director, pretty much lashed out against all those people that didn’t have something nice to say about the demo build.

The demo could never capture the essence of the BP “experience”, says Ward, because of the restrictive nature of a demo. “This new Burnout is an experience that YOU choose how to play rather than us forcing a game structure on you - when the rest of you get to play the full game I am confident you will agree.”

This sounds like a load of crap to me, I really do not like it when game developers put a demo out into the world and then claim that the demo has nothing to do with he final build? Then why the F%^& put it out?
