I’ve been playing Crysis for the past couple days and have to say it’s one damn good game. I don’t think I’d go as far as to say the best PC shooter ever, but it’s up there.
I don’t have the best graphics card, so I’m not getting near the most I can from the game. But even still, it’s looking very pretty. Textures and environments are all detailed nicely and the physics in the game is great. Gameplay is solid and the story is pretty good. Gotta love enhanced abilities with a Nano Suit. Now if only I could find one of those in real life…
I haven’t had much time with the multiplayer yet, so I can’t comment too much. From what I’ve played, it’s solid and fun.
Here’s the thing though: I don’t see it revolutionizing the genre in the way games like BioShock did this year. I did expect a bit more in that respect. What you can expect is a more in depth review coming in the next week or so as I spend some more time with the game.
Haze looks like another promising title for the PS3 and I for one think it is about time. This one looks to have some tight graphics and interest game play elements, apparantly the “Nectar” in the game gives you super soldier like powers. Nothing beats some good old fashioned pharmaceuticals to boost your attacks and reflexes the good old fashioned way. Haze has a Crysis like feel to it and at least for the early onset will be a PS3 exclusive so look forward to seeing more of Haze.
Tired of eating Cheetos and Hot Pockets while sitting so close to your monitor to get your raiding in? Then head over to Xfire and get out your Switchblade (program that is) so you can use your handy dandy Xbox 360 controller to control your henchmen in World of Warcraft, Azeroth will never be the same again. Best part is that it is free and will support other games in the future as well, perhaps a bit of Crysis later this year? I wonder if the TID will also work so you can map all of your control bars to it? Read More »
We brought you the minimum requirements to run Crysis on your computer, so the least we could do is show you a glimpse of what you can expect from EA and Crytek. Here is some pretty gameplay with a splash of backstory, it has a Halo meets GRAW feel to it, but looks pretty amazing.
With the much anticipated launch of Crysis around the corner, November 16th, a lot of gamers have been wondering what kind of a super computer they will need in order to get in some Crytek fun. EA released, and then later retracted, the minimum system requirements for the upcoming PC hit Crysis. Unless these requirements are going up, I don’t see why they would be retracted.
CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent RAM: 1GB Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb) HDD Space: 16GB OS: Microsoft Windows Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
These really aren’t that bad. My laptop can probably run the game, but not that well. I have an ATI Radeon Mobility x1400 (256mb). We’ll see how it goes when the game ships later this year.
EA has made it official. Crysis will drop for the PC this year on November 16th.
With all the delays in the industry, I would be surprised to see this slip a few weeks. I can’t imagine EA and Crytek letting this slip past the Holiday season though.
Gaming this Holiday is going to be insane. Halo 3, Gears of War for PC, Unreal Tournament III… and those are just the other shooters.
The official countdown to needing a new PC has begun.
We brought you the first 2 parts of the Crysis developer walkthrough from E3, now we bring you part 3. It’s too bad I only use a laptop these days, because there’s no way my Dell laptop (or coming Macbook Pro) will run this thing very well.
Here’s a two part developer walkthough of the upcoming PC title, Crysis. If you haven’t gotten excited about this game yet, check out these videos and then pick your jaw up off the floor. Too bad you need an insane PC to play this game at this level.
A new FPS was announced and it has me sold by the title alone, merchants of Brooklyn (I was born in Brooklyn). This title which will be powered by the new CryENGINE 2 middleware from Crytek, in case you weren’t sure who Crytek was, they are the creators of the multiple award winning first person shooter Far Cry, and the upcoming blockbuster hit Crysis. This game so far is billed to “deliver engaging, fast-paced, futuristic mafia action.” Did I mention they had me at Brooklyn, I wouldnt mind seeing a nice gangster game set in Brooklyn on my 360, I wonder what the merchants will be selling?
