Yes the title reads Ultimate Box, get your chuckles out now, it isn’t that kind of article. Looks like Burnout is getting the box treatment, okay it does sound kind of funny, but seriously they are getting a new set that will include all the new DLC. Look to get your hands on it during the London Games Festival or in your home in February.

We have told you all about the massive DLC coming to Burnout Paradise that boasts some new bikes, but couldn’t confirm the release date, but that has changed and you can now expect this monster load of content September 18th. If you don’t remember what this downloadable content will bring here it is:
- Pick from 2 motorcycles featuring male or female characters and start on a whole new progression to earn your Bike License.
- 38 new against-the-clock race events – Burning Ride and Midnight Ride.
- A brand new in-game 24 hr day / night cycle that impacts traffic density and available events. (It’s fully customisable – you can make it day/night/change the clock speed – it’s up to you.)
- Dynamic weather brings an all-new look to Paradise City
- And if that’s not enough, we’ve got 70 more Freeburn Challenges too
So get your internet connection up and ready because Thursday you should be downloading this bad boy. I wonder when the next set of content will come where you can work on your F15 license?

If you aren’t familiar with the Criterion Collection, it’s the best of the best in terms of quality in movie releases. Some of the Criterion DVDs fetch easily over $100 on Ebay and other sites. So when it came to picking their reference Blu-Ray player, they didn’t cut any corners.
The PS3 topped their list as the best BD player out there, just as it has on many other lists. CNET uses the PS3 as their reference player as well. It’s important to note that both the Criterion Collection and CNET are using cheap HDMI cables, which work just as good as those super expensive Monster Cables you picked up at Best Buy.
I use my PS3 as my Blu-Ray and DVD player. It works great for upscaling as well. What setup are most of you using?

That’s right, you won’t have to start over in Burnout Paradise to earn those Trophies. Announced by Criterion, the game will get an update “soon” to add Trophy support. This will not be part of the upcoming Codename: Cagney update coming on July 10th. No word on an exact time for this new patch, but I’d expect shortly after Cagney.
The reason Burnout Paradise will be able to issue Trophies retroactively is because the game save is tied to your PSN ID. Unlike most PS3 titles, you can’t share game saves with Burnout, which is why Criterion is able to go back and check your save for what you’re accomplished. I wouldn’t expect this feature in many other games. Hopefully we start hearing about what games will get Trophies later this week. I’d love to see games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank Future, and SingStar get Trophy support really soon.

Selling 1 million copies is a big mark in video games, and Burnout Paradise has met that level. That’s pretty much a guaranteed sequel.
Whether you like the new changes in the game or not, selling 1 million copies is a great accomplishment for Criterion’s smash-em-up driver. This also brings the Burnout series to over 15 million copies sold over the lifetime of the product. That’s damn impressive right there.
Criterion is supporting Paradise well with a lot of upcoming DLC, a good portion of it being free. Personally, I’d still like to see a normal Crash Mode added back to the game. That’s the only fault I can find with it.
