Submit Your Original Song for the Lips Open Mic Contest

lips_mics

The Lips Open Mic Contest is being presented by AT&T for a chance to have your original song featured as a free download in the game.

The contest requires participants to compose their own original song and submit a video of the performance to be judged on.  Judges will narrow down the competition to the five best songs and the finalist’s videos will be posted on Xbox Live and Zune.net on April 10th where the general public will vote to decide the winner.

The winner will receive a package containing a trip to L.A. with tickets to the Warped tour, a flat screen T.V., a Xbox 360 console, a 120 GB Zune and of course your song featured as a free download on Lips.  The runners-up will receive an Xbox 360, a Zune and other unnamed prizes.

The contest starts today and ends March 13th, 2009.  It is only open to U.S. residents 18 years of age or older.  Submit videos to www.zune.net/attlipscontest.  AT&T users get a double vote by texting to 991, they are the official sponsor after all.

I kind of wish I had at least some ability to sing now.  Give it a shot, you only risk soul crushing embarrassment and we all know that doesn’t hurt.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Contest Hints In-Game Immortality

What’s better than winning a physical prize for your hard work?  Being immortalized in a video game of course.  Rare is having a contest for the best player built contraption created in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.  The official prize hasn’t been announced yet but Rare promises it to be something good.  Here are the contest details:

  • Deadline for entries is January 4th 2009, 12 midnight PST. This gives players the whole holiday to get creative on us.
  • Anybody with a copy of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and an Xbox LIVE account can enter.
  • You can submit as many contraptions and photos as you like; just remember that the cream always rises to the top.
  • Wow us! Shock us! Just don’t post dodgy contraptions (don’t play coy, you know what we mean). The entry must be your own original work, infringe no copyrights and reference no third party trademarks, music, logos, names or images.
  • In order to be included you’ll need to allow Microsoft rights to distribute your entries, letting the widest possible audience marvel at your machinery.
  • Just to be clear, this is not a competition with some kind of tacky physical memento as a prize. We’re not giving away our secret by saying what the reward is just yet…

Once the winners are selected they will be contacted via their Gamertags and asked to send their winning blueprints for whatever it is Rare has in store.  Good luck and start building.

Reminder: Loot Ninja T-Shirt Contest

Don’t forget about the most recent Loot-Ninja contest folks.  There are just 23 more days until it ends.  Remember, you task is to create a prototype of a shirt for Loot-Ninja.  The shirt should be relevant to Loot-Ninja and include the name or the website.  You are not responsible for actually creating the shirt, only a design for a shirt.

On January 1st, all of the contestants’ designs will be posted, and the community will vote them on.  The design receiving the most votes will win.  What will they win you might ask; a big bundle of surprises, including shirts, hats, games, dlc, accessories, and possibly some other cool things.  We are going to start the New Year off right with a big giveaway so be a part of it and help us begin to design some merchandise.  There will be merchandise available in the beginning of January so get prepared.

E-Mail your design(s) or questions to shirts [at] loot-ninja [dot] com as well as any questions or concerns you may have that you may not want others to see in the comments.  Good luck, and godspeed.

Loot Ninja T-Shirt Contest

Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to create an original t-shirt design for Loot-Ninja.  I want you to be as creative as possible   Feel free to design specific colors, fonts, the front, back, sides, sleeves, anything you can dream, do it.   The t-shirt should include Loot Ninja in the name and be video game related or slogan driven or whatever you want as long as it’s awesome.  If you would like the logos, click here for the White Ninja and here for the Black Ninja.  Any questions leave it in the comments, there will be reminders posted.  Any specific secret questions you don’t want anyone else to know of or see, e-mail us at shirts [at] loot-ninja [dot] com.  Start thinking of some ideas and in the next week I’ll drop some hints on what the prize will be.

Remember, sometimes less is more.
