Looks like review copies of Fable II have been shipped out and in them was a letter from Peter Molyneux to the reviewer that read like this:
I have a favour to ask you — we build this game not only to appeal to gamers like yourself, but to appeal to anybody. So please, please, please, please, pleae find somebody who doesn’t play games, watch them play it and see how their world turns out, because I think it’s only when you see those differences that the unique experiences comes through.
A bit of a strange request but an interesting, almost a challenge to see just how mainstream Fable can be even for those people that are non-gamers. His statement about the game changing their world is a bit over the top, but just shows his level of commitment to his games and craft. Fable does ship a bit incomplete as the online co-op mode is not included and will come later as a downloadable update for the update.
I have yet to get my copy so Peter if your reading this please feel free to send one my way and I and a non-gamer will review it.
I’ve taken virtual dumps on Call of Duty 5 in the past for going back to World War 2. We’ve been there and moved on with CoD4. But with the solid engine and added co-op gameplay, I might have to eat my words. World at War looks pretty solid. Check out this gameplay trailer from a co-op level called Subway. If you don’t know where the level is set, you’re dumb.
Saints Row 2 is getting a cool co-op mode. THQ made a virtual McCain and Obama for the video, too. I’m really liking the marketing campaign for this game. Anyway, you’ll get full drop-in/drop-out support and you can play the full campaign with a buddy. Good stuff.
So you are excited about Gears of War 2, well here are some more reasons, achievements to be exact. I like the fact that the achievements promote the new elements of the game and weapons.
• Green as Grass
Train the rook (any difficulty)
• It’s a Trap!
Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 2
• Escort Service
Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 4
• Girl About Town
Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 6
• That Sinking Feeling
Story progression in Act 2, Chapter 4

The award for most misleading title goes to… Marvel ultimate Alliance 2 Fusion. Gamers heard Fusion and immediately thought about merging Hulk and Spider Man to make a web slinging behemoth, but alas looks like that thought is incorrect. We will not see any Dragonball style fusions of characters but instead see them performing co-op moves similar to what you could do in the first version. The game looks pretty good and seems to focus more on two characters now instead of the usual four from previous titles.
Check out the developers from Silicon Knights talking all about the co-op features in their upcoming hack and slash game, Too Human. Seems like there’s some pretty cool features for playing with a friend, especially loot collecting, which we’re all fans of here (obviously).
The video is a little over 14 minutes long and it’s Friday afternoon, so go grab a beer and check it out.
As of April 1st, yes April Fool’s Day, you can expect a new Army of Two demo to wet your appetite. If you haven’t tried the game out yet and didn’t want to take my word for it that the game is fun, check out the demo and see for yourself. You will get to play the training stage and the first board, not bad. We can also look forward to some new maps and a new mode as DLC coming soon from our friends at EA.
Hit the jump for the official press release:
People all over the world have already joined the army of two…now is your chance to get in on the action.
On April 1st anyone who has not yet played ARMY OF TWO(tm) can team up to create the deadliest two-man military outfit a government can buy. In this free online demo, two people can play exciting co-op missions exclusively on Xbox LIVE(tm) Marketplace. In the demo, two players complete an intensive co-op training session before they are dropped into Somalia where they must work together to take out the local warlord.
Players engage in two-man tactics and boost their Aggro level to become the ultimate combat force that no enemy can withstand. ARMY OF TWO gameplay focuses on two-man missions, two-man strategies, two-man tactics and a two-man advantage to bring a new and groundbreaking gaming experience to players worldwide, online and offline. It captivates gamers with a politically charged storyline, centering on the impact and ethical issues of Private Military Corporations.
Let me start off by saying that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 looks and feels a lot like it’s predecessor, but this isn’t a bad thing. Your experience and achievements you racked up in the previous Rainbow Six game actually carries over to this version, which is a very nice feature for Ubisoft to throw in there. So your rank i.e. Captain, Private, etc. carries over as well as any unlocked camouflage gear and weapons for those ranks. Now you can also see your experience on the bottom of the screen, how much you currently have and what you need to advance to your next rank, makes it almost RPG like. You will get different experience for different types of kills and earn ranks in different categories as well, which will unlock weapons and camo. Read More »
