The situation is Haiti is something that should stir up that charitable part inside of you to want to help. Whether you donate to the Red Cross or some other legitimate charity, I encourage everyone to do what you can. It’s a tragedy that is still unfolding and people need our help. Time are tough and I know cash is tight, so if you want to help but can’t pass along some cash right now, why not play some Halo?
From now through midnight PT tomorrow night, if you play Halo 3 or ODST on Xbox Live with a specific emblem on your armor, Bungie will donate money to the Red Cross relief effort up to $77,000. How to you change your emblem? I’m glad you asked. Hit the jump for detailed instructions. We’ll see you online!

Things to do this weekend. Play Modern Warfare 2. Raise money for charity. Mingle with celebrities. All on Microsoft’s and Activision’s wallets. Yes it is possible.
This weekend only Xbox Live Gold access will be free so UK gamers can get online and play Modern Warfare 2. For every UK gamer playing MW2 Activision will donate money to the War Child Charity. So that’s free XBL Gold from Microsoft and Activision coughing up to a quarter of million GBP for a damn good cause. That’s about four hundred thousand US dollars. All you need to do is play a little MW2 online this weekend to dip into Activision’s pockets then go and play whatever else you want with your free XBL this weekend. If you don’t have MW2 UK retailer GAME is sponsoring this event and probably very happy to sell a copy to you if you ask nicely.
Lay some hate down in Modern Warfare 2 this weekend and you can raise money for children impacted by war. Sounds odd, but it’s true. So I expect to see every UK gamer with MW2, a 360, and an internet connection playing this weekend. It’s for good, so please find it in your heart to go online and frag someone this weekend. Thanks for listening folks and thanks to Microsoft, Activision, and GAME for putting this together. See you in my crosshairs.

I want to reach out one more time to all of our readers and ask for your help and contributions in the Relay for Life. Cancer has affected many of our lives, and the Loot Ninja family has been directly affected. My brother-in-law and Loot Ninja writer, Max, is currently battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It’s been a struggle for all of us, but Max is pulling through very well. We’ve decided to join the Relay for Life to do our part in the fight against cancer.
We need your help in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society. Click here to donate and sponsor me for the Relay for Life. Every little bit helps. We know times are tough, and any size donation will be appreciated. Please feel free to pass this on to family, friends, and co-workers so they can donate as well.
I want to thank all of you who can do whatever you can to find cures for cancer. If you’re so inclined, join a Relay for Life near your home.
