Castle Crashers To Get New Weapons!

Castle Crashers

Chainsaw is included!

Almost a year after its release, Castle Crashers is still topping Major Nelson’s Xbox Live Arcade activity list.  It has dropped down over previous months in lieu of new Arcade titles like Battlefield: 1943 and Trials HD, as well as the great fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 2.  Coming soon though will be downloadable content for Behemoth’s classic game in the form of new weapons, new animal orbs, and a few new playable characters.  No news on the release date or price for the “Necromatic DLC”, but we’ll let you know as soon as we know!  Knowing how Microsoft operates, they’ll charge their evil currency known as Microsoft points, instead of leaving the DLC free of charge for all Castle Crashers owners. Oh great, Microsoft is running the show.

Castle Crashers “King’s Pack” Now Available

The most popular Xbox Live Arcade title of 2008, Castle Crashers, has now (14 January 2009) released the “King’s Pack”, new downloadable content from Behemoth that brings all sorts of new toys for you to play with.  For 160 Microsoft Points you will get:

  • 2 New Characters – Open Faced Gray Knight and the King
  • New Weapons – NG Lollipop, NG Gold Sword, and the Kings Mace
  • New Animal Orb – Pelter (Seal)
  • New Magic – King’s Healing, Gold Knife, Healing Magic, and Kingley Jump

This is the first of two Castle Crashers DLC packs coming from Behemoth.  On the Behemoth website, they have sent their apologies for charging for it, but it’s all up to Microsoft on what to charge.

This pack should go live sometime on the 14th of January for 160 Space Bucks Microsoft Points  ($2.00).  All pricing for this and future downloadable content is entirely decided on by Microsoft. All we can do is throw in our input (free!!!!!) but at the end of the day it’s their decision.

Sounds like Behemoth wanted to give it away for free or wants to make money and paint Microsoft as the greedy ones.  I like free but don’t bite the hand that feeds you boys.  Keep the goods coming.

Castle Crashers Patch Ready for Microsoft

There have been a few gamers out there that have been feeling a little sick about the online issues that have plagued Castle Crashers since it’s release.  Well, take some antacids kids because The Behemoth has said it is all in Microsoft’s hands now.

As everyone knows by now, the patch seems to be taking an eternity to release, but at least this is another step in the right direction.  Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will all be playing online again with no memory of the past problems.  Just try to put aside the fact that you feel you purchased a broken game, I know I have, so why can’t you?
