Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Announced

You know the takes of Jeff and Yaris as well of millions of other CoD fans out there. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the best of the bunch. You’ll all be pleased to hear a sequel is in the works.

Dubbed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the game will be shipping in Fall 2009. I guess once you get above 4, it’s time to not number the games anymore.

No word on where the game is set, but rest assured the next CoD game will be set in modern times. We’ll keep you posted as more details arise, but Activision isn’t commenting yet.

News: Call Of Duty Series Returns To Infinity Ward

call-of-duty-3-6.jpg

Hey everybody! Remember this game? Yeah, you remember this game. Well you may or may not be glad to hear that after the Treyarchs fifth release in the COD series, all will be handed back to Infinity Ward. I for one welcome the return of the original developers – all I can hope for now is that Treyarch doesn’t screw up COD 5 like it did the series 3rd entry. For whatever reason the two studios have begun passing off COD to one another after every incarnation.

There are a few of you out there who get a little miffed at the trash talking being thrown Treyarchs way in regards to the series. But lets do a quick common sense comparison of both developers in regards to the franchise. Yeah?! Hit the jump for more »

Activision Confirms Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4

sword-pf-1000-truths.jpgJust in case you have not heard, Activision merged with Vivendi to make a monster development company. The good news keeps coming. During a press conference they confirmed that there will be a Call of Duty 5, no word on format yet, and Guitar Hero 4. Not surprised to hear this due to the fact both games are basically must haves, but its good to know that the franchises are alive and well. They also confirmed that there is no plans to put World of Warcraft on any console.

This seems to be a trend with the merging of these companies. There is way too much money involved in gaming now for any company and/or companies to avoid shrewd business moves that will create bigger and better games which result in more profit. The consumer is the real winner here in the sole reason that games have a pretty standard price. Except for the music games and their expensive peripherals, 60 bucks is the industry standard. The games get better and we still pay the same price. Looks like 2008 could be the year of the consumer.

Call of Duty 4 Graphics Card Showdown

CoD4 Graphics Cards 1280×1024

One of the admins over at CoDForums, Sprigner, put together some nice graphics card performance charts showing how various cards handle the new PC shooter. Above is for 1280×1024 resolution, a chart for 1600×1200 is after the jump.

My laptop’s graphics card is below this list (ATI Radeon Moblity x1400), so I’m just going to stick to console gaming. No way I’m buying a new laptop (or building a desktop) to play this on the PC.
