COD 5 Instant Death on Makin

If you have played Call of Duty 5 you are aware of one of it’s more popular maps called Makin, this is the stage where there is a giant straw hut in the center of the board. I am sure many of you have thought how great it would be to get to the top of the hut and just camp your little heart away, don’t lie. Well here is what happens if you do get to the top of the hut, seems like the developers programmed in hot fiery death for you for trying to exploit the map. Enjoy and kudos to the devs for thinking ahead,

Voices of World at War

I knew that Kiefer Sutherland was casting his voice to the new Call of Duty game but I have to admit that I was surprised to hear that Gary Oldman was in it also. So it looks like Call of Duty 5 will have Jack Bauer and Syrius Black, not a bad duo to have yelling during your gaming experience. I may get this game just to hear Kiefer yell at me during battles while blowing things up, watch as both actors put their all into these lines and really deliver some fierce dialogue.

I just want Gary Oldman to yell out “Bring Everyone!”. Name what movie that line is from for bonus points.

News: Call Of Duty Series Returns To Infinity Ward

call-of-duty-3-6.jpg

Hey everybody! Remember this game? Yeah, you remember this game. Well you may or may not be glad to hear that after the Treyarchs fifth release in the COD series, all will be handed back to Infinity Ward. I for one welcome the return of the original developers - all I can hope for now is that Treyarch doesn’t screw up COD 5 like it did the series 3rd entry. For whatever reason the two studios have begun passing off COD to one another after every incarnation.

There are a few of you out there who get a little miffed at the trash talking being thrown Treyarchs way in regards to the series. But lets do a quick common sense comparison of both developers in regards to the franchise. Yeah?! Read More »

Wrong on so many levels…

Okay, let me start off by saying that when I saw the title of this video, “Nintendo Wii ‘Dog Attack’ video”, I was expecting something totally different. I was picturing someone hitting their dog with a Wii-mote in the head while bowling and then the dog biting their ass or something. Instead, we see a kid acting a fool while playing what looks to be Call of Duty and his dog humping him!

Disturbing! Why, you ask? Well, lets start off with the fact that the kid never really tries to stop the dog from humping him. Then lets move on to the very awkward screams the kid is making, and lastly the fact that whoever is filming this isn’t saying a word?

Add this all together and you have quite a video that is wrong on so many levels!

Move over Halo 3, COD4 takes the top spot

cod4-1.jpgLooks like Call of Duty 4 is the truth and the people have spoken by making it the top played game on the Xbox 360. Halo 3 holding in second and Halo 2 still holding the top spot of the Originals list. Interesting to see that N+ made a big move to overtake UNO and Rez HD, that says a lot about that title.

Here are the lists:

Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (based on UU’s)
1 Call of Duty 4
2 Halo 3
3 Guitar Hero III
4 Gears of War
5 Rock Band
6 Frontlines: Fuel of War (Multiplayer Demo)
7 N+
8 Madden NFL 08
9 FIFA 08
10 Assassin’s Creed

Activision Confirms Call of Duty 5 and Guitar Hero 4

sword-pf-1000-truths.jpgJust in case you have not heard, Activision merged with Vivendi to make a monster development company. The good news keeps coming. During a press conference they confirmed that there will be a Call of Duty 5, no word on format yet, and Guitar Hero 4. Not surprised to hear this due to the fact both games are basically must haves, but its good to know that the franchises are alive and well. They also confirmed that there is no plans to put World of Warcraft on any console.

This seems to be a trend with the merging of these companies. There is way too much money involved in gaming now for any company and/or companies to avoid shrewd business moves that will create bigger and better games which result in more profit. The consumer is the real winner here in the sole reason that games have a pretty standard price. Except for the music games and their expensive peripherals, 60 bucks is the industry standard. The games get better and we still pay the same price. Looks like 2008 could be the year of the consumer.

COD 4 Impressions

COD 4I had a chance to sit down with COD 4 for the Xbox 360 and I have to say that off the bat the graphics are very impressive. The opening sequence has you taking siege of a boat and then trying to escape before it sinks. The visuals in the game are tight and blow all other iterations of any Call of Duty game away. The current setting is also a nice addition as you don’t fight in WWII times anymore, but in current day wars.

I ran through the first few boards, which move you from the sinkng ship to an assassination attempt in the middle east. The change in terrain is very good and you quickly see that you are fighting in urban settings against terrorists. Multiplayer offers you different modes like free-for-all and team deathmatch and open up others as you level your character online. You can also open up different character classes as you level up, which is pretty cool since your ugrade in level are announced during the game, instead of waiting until the end of a match like in Halo. The multiplayer system is based on points and you get pointsfor kills and winning matches. One new thing is the addition of a knife to your inventory, which takes the place of gun butting someone, so when you press in the right thumbstick you stab someone, pretty sweet.

Stay tuned for more on this title.
