Review: Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3

CoDWaW - MP3-500

Okay, after quite a few hours of gameplay, in my opinion, this map pack is some of Treyarch’s best work to date. Simply put, these maps are awesome, and totally worth the download.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack #3

CoD World at War Map Pack 2 Screen

The third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War is scheduled for release today. This latest offering of n00b PWNING glory will feature three multiplayer maps (Battery, Revolution, and Breach), and one new Zombie map (Der Riese).

Below is the info provided by Treyarch:

Battery: Fight for ocean territory on an armored island surrounded by anti-ship mines and shore to ship cannons.

Revolution: Watch out for sniper fire as you defend Russia’s most coveted resource.

Breach: Keep a sharp eye out through the dense, overcast city streets, set at Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate. A lot of you will remember the original COD map “Dome” that takes place inside the Reichstag, which can be seen in the background, and on the fringes of ”Breach”.

Der Riese: This new zombie map is set in a Nazi research facility featuring the weapon upgrading Pack-A-Punch Machine. Use the teleporters to escape in an instant and fight to the death in pursuit of the map’s 10 new Zombie Achievements.

Review: CoD: World at War – Map Pack 2

CoD World at War Map Pack 2 Screen

Treyarch released new DLC for the insanely popular CoD:WaW game and we were lucky enough to get a chance to play it and I have to say it is one of the better map packs I have played in a long time. The DLC gives us 3 maps and one zombie level, each of which I will go into detail. I am not a big fan of paying for new content, but this map pack is good, very good. It made me want to play the game again and that is the true intention of DLC, besides a few bucks of course.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 Sells a Million

CoD5 Screen 3

You must really like CoD: World at War. Activision sent out a press release that the recent Map Pack 2 has sold over a million units combined between Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Not too shabby.

Four maps for $10 isn’t a bad deal, either. If you’re a CoD: WaW player, you should grab these fun bags. We’ll have our full review of the map pack this week, so make sure to check back to find out exactly what we think about them.

Call of Duty: World at War Gets Patch and Free New Map

Call of Duty 5 Screen

Calling all CoD:WaW players, Activision is dropping some free content on your today. A new daytime varient of the Makin map is included in today’s patch, which fixes all kinds of stuff.

While free content is great, it’s not like Activision is really blowing the doors off with this. While a new lighting variant changes the gameplay a bit, it doesn’t provide a totally new setting.

If you want to see all the changes from the patch today, head on over to the Call of Duty site.

Call of Duty: World at War with Nazi Zombies

Recently revealed on Gametrailers TV, developer Treyarch talks about a brand spanking new game mode for Call of Duty: World at War and it’s called Nazi Zombie Mode. That is right, Nazi freakin Zombie Mode, this is no joke. The extra game mode isn’t unlocked until you have defeated the single player campaign.

The mode will sport a basic economy where you can purchase weapons and board up windows to try and keep the zombies out.  It is a 4 player cooperative game with an infinite amount of zombie waves.  Basic communication will be required between you and your teammates to stay alive.  Since there are infinite waves of zombies how can you tell if you really are kicking ass?  Well the developers have given you a personal goal, they have reached level 23 themselves.  If you reach level 24 you should probably step outside for a break as you have spent more time than the developers on the game and that’s sad.
