Rockstar just can’t catch a break. Manhunt has issues in the UK and now Bully is getting ganked in Brazil. Apparently the violence in Bully is just too much for Brazilians to handle at this time?
A judge has suspended the sale of the video game Bully in Brazil on the grounds that its content is too violent for young children and teenagers, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Judge Flavio Rabello prohibited the game from being imported, distributed, sold or promoted on Web sites and stores in Latin America’s largest nation on Friday, Rio Grande do Sul state prosecutor Alcindo Bastos said, adding that they would have 30 days to comply with the order.
Of all of the titles Rockstar has dropped, Bully is probably the most tame one of all, since it revolves around a kid being in school. I can’t believe that the game is being banned in a country that invented the thong and Brazilian wax, and lets not mention one of the highest percentages of transgender individuals. A video game is the least of your worries.
Bully: Scholarship Edition was supposed to be a great chance of fans of the game to finally experience it in next-gen fashion. Unpredicted lock-ups and bugs that were undetected in beta testing surfaced in the game and Rockstar quickly worked to remedy the situation. Many reports claim that these issues still remain. One explanation is that older consoles may be the ones experiencing the glitches, but these have all but been debunked with Elites and Falcons being privy to the same errors. If you are planning on picking this up, and don’t get me wrong, the game is pretty good, you might want to wait awhile until all the dust settles.
Remember those crazy freezing and crashing issues surrounding Bully: Scholarship Edition for the Xbox 360? Rockstar has come true to their word and released the patch for the game to fix these issues.
Fire up your Xbox 360 and load up Bully and you’ll be prompted for the auto update. From what we hear, it makes the game much more playable. If you get the patch, let us know how it works out for you.
Now go kiss some boys in the game. You know you want to.
Anyone who bought Bully: Scholarship Edition may be experiencing some really big issues with massive framerate dropping, freezes, and other issues resulting in a complete system restart. This is what Rockstar told gameindustrybiz about what is going down:
We are very aware of the problems some people have been experiencing with the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition and have been doing everything within our powers to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.
You have to like them nipping this problem in the bud as fast as they are. With GTAIV about a month away, the developers do not want to be dodging these questions that would certainly surmise if Bully was a complete disaster.
Only a day after its release, Bully is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The game is a mess to play right now according to many gamers in many forums right now reports xboxer.tv. The game apparently has freezes in many points of the games and in some instances, total lock up which results in restarting. This happened with Bioshock and they rushed to fix it, only to screw up some more in the process, but eventually it was remedied. Not sure who is Beta testing these games but they should be ready when GTAIV comes out. If this happens, Rockstar is in for a world of scrutiny and flaming bags of dog shit on their doorsteps.
If you thought the pillow fight scene in LOTR: The Return of the King was gay, this might be a shock. Bully, now in next gen, has achievements. One particular one, “Over the rainbow”, awards you with a whopping 25 pts if 20, yes, 20 guys give you a kiss. We are not kidding. I have decided to add my own list of achievements in this spirit of unabashed homosexual freedom:
1 pt- To See It
2 pts - To touch it.
5 pts - For an HJ
10 pts - For a BJ
15 pts - For a ZJ. If you have to ask, then buddy you don’t want it.
A former PS2 exclusive has been officially given a release date as well as a price. The game is slated to be released on March 4, 2008 and will be listed at $49.99. This is a sandbox like game that allows the player, Jimmy Hopkins, who has been placed in an uptight boarding school, Bullworth Academy. He has to navigate himself through the perils of being the new kid by interacting with the inevitable social cliques that exist. Expect much more from this title when we hear it.
