Here is some footage of Fight Night Round 4 form the Gamestop Managers meeting. The game looks impressive and I hope will live up to the high expectations people are putting on it after playing the great Fight Night Round 3. The video is interesting because it actually tears apart its predecessor by pointing out all the things that this great game had wrong. Of most interest is probably the addition of a new AI to the game named R.E.A.L., which is short for Record Evaluate Adapt and Learn. The new AI boasts to imitate real life fighting styles and learn and modify during fights, also the new addition of in close or dirty boxing looks great.
Kimbo the Elite XC fighter decides to import himself as a female fighter into EA’s newest boxing gmae Facebreaker and name himself Zoomoonda. I have to say the commercial is pretty funny and Kimbo is a good sport for doing this, best line is “you can upload your homeboys face in this game and kick his @ss”. Can’t wait to the new commercials for the UFC game, Rampage FTW.
Finally a Wii Fit workout video featuring Playboy model Jo Garcia, good times! In case you aren’t sure who Jo is she is an adult model and Cyber Girl of the Year 2008.
Why make a video of a hot chick trying out the Wii Fit’s Hula Hoop exercise and ski jump scantily clad? Because they can and people will watch, that’s why.
Garcia has also has made videos of herself boxing and performing yoga with Wii Fit. Wii Fit never looked so good, this may motivate some to play some Wii Fit and get in shape, that or beat the bag.
Looks like this guy already got his hands on a MGS4 PS3 bundle, from Walmart of course. I like how he says he feels a bit dirty while unboxing it and that when he saw it he went and looked for the newest associate they had. Great find by this guy, I say play it until your eyes bleed.

A new Facebreaker character has been announced and it looks like EA is catering to their female gamers for this one, enter Kiriko, a bubbly boxer that states “wicked! I can’t feel my face”. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, the addition of the female boxer just solidifies the fact that this game is a pure arcade title, no realism to see here folks.
The more gameplay I see of Facebreaker the less it looks like a boxing game and the more it looks like a cheesy fighting game. The action is too far over the top, you can see Kiriko drop kick a guy in this clip, last time I checked this isn’t allowed in boxing? What do you guys think?
I got to thinking more about the inclusion of Mike Tyson into Fight Night 4 and it’s relevance and had to pull up some fights to remember just how good he was in his prime. The man was a monster at his pinnacle and would showcase some of the greatest knockouts to date, many argue that they would have loved to see a fight between Iron Mike and Ali because of the drastic contrast in styles, well now you will be able to do just that. Many people would get pay-per-view fights just see him put on a show, either in or out of the ring, his interviews are classic to say the least. Putting Mike Tyson in is a huge thing, now if only they could put in Glass Joe and King Hippo.
Hit the jump for some great classic Tyson. Read More »
The new EA title out of their freshly created EA Freestyle camp is Facebreaker, a cartoonish style boxing game similar to Ready to Rumble. I have seen some clips of the characters and gameplay and it looks entertaining, but I hope it is more technical than a button-mashing orgy in order to knock the other guy out. Fight Night Round 3 was probably one of the best boxing games ever made because it made the fights realistic, you couldn’t just come out and swing like a wild animal to win, there was plenty of strategy and technique to the game.
We also will see Don King’s Prize Fighter coming soon and this is a more realistic style boxing game more in the style of Fight Night. Speaking of Fight Night we will also see the newest iteration in that franchise in Fight Night Round 4, which was just announced will have everyone’s favorite ear biting ex-champion, Mike Tyson. So that is a lot of boxing being announced and pushed but will they deliver?
Will Facebreaker bring some fun to boxing or will it come up short? Will Fight Night 4 bring more of that tactical boxing everyone loved? And will Don King and his fro have enough to make his boxing game stand out? I was personally hoping for a remake to Punch Out myself. I think it is high time to have Glass Joe get pummeled again, I wouldn’t even mind seeing it on the Wii since the controls scream Wiimote.
In what can only be called an odd turn of events in the feud between Uwe Boll and Michael Bay comes this quick message form Uwe Boll about an upcoming boxing match between the two. Apparently Uwe thinks he will knock out Bay in the 3rd round and Bay doesn’t even acknowledge the fight will occur. Good times all around, perhaps Uwe has gone completely off the deep end? What do you think?
Everyone’s favorite crazy haired boxing promoter is getting his own video game thanks to 2K Sports. The game, Don King Presents: Prizefighter, is coming to the Xbox 360, Wii, and DS in Spring 2008. No PS3 love?
“The combination of real-life fight scenarios, story-driven gameplay and photo-realistic graphics will set this title apart from the competition,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “Our goal has always been to deliver the most engaging and realistic titles, and Don King Presents: Prizefighter will exceed these expectations. Based on the game’s innovative features and high-profile fighters, this title will be a ‘must have’ for any sports gamer.”
It’s going to be a real task to overtake the infamous Fight Night Round 3, which many consider to be the best boxing game ever. I guess we’ll see what happens in the Spring when this is released.
