It has just been announced today that EA has procured the exclusive global license to produce video games based upon the works of Mr. Robert Ludlum. The license was granted by Ludlum Entertainment, a firm established to expand Mr. Ludlums works into other media platforms. For those of you who don’t know Robert Ludlum is the man behind the Jason Bourne series, the Covert One series, and The Janson Directive.
We have already seen the Bourne films turn into video games but now the entire IP, and all of Ludlums other IP’s will be published by EA in this multi-year deal. Development of the first title is underway by Starbreeze Studios out of Sweden and it will be a Jason Bourne title. Full Press Release beyond the Jump.
He has been called the James Bond of our generation. His movies have grossed millions and his books are best-sellers. It was only a matter of time until Jason Bourne made it to the land of video games. Sierra did not want to make this a Splinter Cell remake and they succeeded in that. The game is very original and is true to the movies. A new combat system, adaptive AI, and detailed environments make this game worth getting into. This is your chance to become the ultimate weapon.
When will it all end? PS3 hard drives are gonna be full everywhere soon. Sure you can upgrade your hard drive, but do developers need to make 5GB installs all the time? The latest to share the hard drive is The Bourne Conspiracy, which shipped to retailers today from Sierra.
You would figure with the amount of bitching going on about installs that developers would cut it back a bit. I guess not.
Jason Bourne has been called our generations James Bond. Except he gets laid much less. Anyway, his first adventure in the next generation of gaming is almost here and we can now try it out via the demo currently on Xbox Live. I gave it a thorough play through last night and although fun at times, the game did not make it self stand out in any way.
The awaited and inevitable video game adventure, The Bourne Ultimatum, has a newly released demo on Xbox Live. The demo is 1.2 GB about which makes for a hefty size download. The videos have looked great; lets so how this plays.
It will be available in Europe next week. The demo is being shipped over on a pirate ship as we speak.
Jason Bourne is back and seems to be more pissed off than ever. This is a montage, and you guys know how I feel about monatges, of in game footage of Bourne breaking legs, blowing shit up and his overall contempt for other people’s health. The fighting aspect looks to be very counter-oriented and is a nice addition to simple aim and shoot. I still have a case of the movie-turned-game doubts, but this could be worth playing.
Jason Bourne employs the hand to hand style combat called Krav Maga, which was created by the Isreali Special Forces. Its very lethal and its sole objective is to inflict as much pain as possible in the shortest time. I am currently studying this. Never know when someone is going to take your lunch money. Check out how Jason Bourne finishes off some enemies.
The Bourne Conspiracy is coming soon for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s not based on any of the movies, but you get to play as Jason Bourne, who’s one of my personal heroes.
Here’s an interview with one of the developers about the combat system in the game.
