EA Announces Boom Blox Bash Party

Steven Spielberg has tied his name to another Boom Blox title and this time it’s a party game.  Boom Blox Bash Party is the sequel to the original Boom Blox for the Wii.

“BOOM BLOX Bash Party is a wild social gaming experience,” said Steven Spielberg. “We know families and friends really enjoyed playing the original BOOM BLOX together, so we designed more explosive multiplayer experiences with BOOM BLOX Bash Party.”

Boom Blox Bash Party makes a lot of sense.  The Wii seems to have turned into a party game machine and the original Boom Blox failed to sell well even though the game had a fairly neat concept.  Logic would dictate that adding the word “party” to the game will help its overall sales.

The game will feature more multiplayer action and over 400 new levels.  It will also feature downloadable levels created by the community and EA will offer their own levels as well.  The best part is, no friend codes are required.

Boom Blox Bash Party is set for release in the spring of 2009 for the Wii.
