Sony better get their act together and do it fast. The entire world has been clamoring for a price drop, but shit just got real. Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick, dropped some wisdom on the TimeOnline:

They have to cut the price, because if they don’t, the attach rates are likely to slow. If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony. When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console — and the PSP  too.

Yikes! The public wanting a price drop is one thing, but the CEO of one of the biggest third party developers telling you they’ll walk if you don’t cut the price? Kaz Hirai better have a fruit basket on the way to Activision HQ already. Maybe pay extra to have those little butter cookies thrown in there too.

PS3 owners – does this worry you? Personally, I love my PS3, but this makes me wonder how much any third party is going to devote to the system in the near future. I would expect anything Activision related to always favor the Xbox 360. What baffles me the most about this quote is pulling support for the PSP as well. Sony’s handheld is selling well, so why the hate dropping there?

Lets examine the construct of this statement:
