Rumors have been flying around the intarwebs about just what might be coming in Bioshock 2. We won’t 100% know for sure until more copies of this month’s Game Informer get sent out, but one person seems to have gotten their hands on a copy already.
It’s 10 years since the first game. The Big Sister returns to rapture, bringing back the Little Sisters with her. You play as the original Big Daddy. You can use the drill, the rivet gun, and you can still use plasmids.
The Big Sister is one of the surviving Little Sisters from the first game and she’s pissed. You go around as the original Big Daddy taking out other Big Daddies to get to her. Along the way, you can either harvest or adopt Little Sisters, much like the first Bioshock.
So, how much of this is true? Since a few pictures of the magazine are included, I’d venture to say this is pretty close to true. Take it as rumor for now, though, until we get some better scans of the magazine.
Take-Two has launched a site for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams at somethinginthesea.com. Honestly, it’s a bit spooky once you start reading into it. A nice little mystery seems to be unfolding as a tale is weaved from photos, scraps of paper, and a map. The short story is there are lots of little girls who look alike going missing, and a strange red light and a tall thin person associated with the red light has been sighted.
The files just scream of Big Daddies with the footprints being metallic in nature and the assailant used a sharpened tool with brute force to break in and out and glowing an eerie red…. And to settle any theories on if this is a prequel/sequel all of the documents on the website are from 1967, 7 years after the first Bioshock takes place, where you were one of the last Big Daddies…
Someone or something is in search of little sisters but more importantly someone is looking to create Adam again… I don’t know about you but I just picture a Big Daddy tearing through a seaside town… I can’t wait. Check it out at somethinginthesea.com.
If you beat the PS3 version of Bioshock, you get a nice bonus in the extras section. It appears that it is the trailer for the sequel, apparently called Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. From what I have ascertained from the trailer and having beaten the first game, I offer my viewpoints. It seems that the girl who might be a Little Sister is holding a doll of some kind that looks exactly like a Big Daddy. You can tell by the 1940’s style dive helmet and the drill coming out of its right hand. The foreshadowing seems to present that the survivors of Rapture have come to the mainland and will begin to build a new city, probably underwater. You get the impression that she is drawn back to the city and needs to return. Of course, everything goes wrong and we have a sequel. What do you guys think?
