It is very rare that DLC games come along that are as good as BF 1943. Arguably the best downloadable game of this generation, BF 1943 stormed on the scene and everyone had to get their hands on it. The developers knew this was the case and left the Air Superiority mode hidden until 43 million kills were reached on your respective console. This created a ton of buzz and people flocked to help unlock it. The Coral Sea Challenge was a rousing success. Awesome. So, now what?
When it comes to getting behind the sticks of any flying vehicle in a video game, it’s a safe bet that I’ll die quickly. To put it bluntly, I suck at flying in games. I’ve been playing a lot of Battlefield 1943 lately and have been trying to get the Motorman Trophy for getting a kill in every kind of vehicle. It didn’t take me long to score a kill with the jeep and the tank, but the plane kill has been avoiding me.
I dare not try Air Superiority on Coral Sea; it’ll just be a bloodbath. Maybe if I can get a little bit better, I’ll venture my way over there. Until I can get one kill, be it by shooting, dropping bombs, or even an air raid, I’m staying on the ground.
So what does one do when they want to get better? Ask you for help, of course. Who has tips for me for getting some kills when flying a plane? Who wants to help a ninja out to score some kills?
We had such a good time last week that we’re making a return to Battlefield 1943 for this week’s Game with Loot Ninja. Both myself and Steve will be online tonight on the PS3 version of the game, whooping asses an taking names. We’ll mix it up both in Conquest and Air Superiority.
We’ll be starting at 8pm ET and our PSN names can be found on the About Us page. Hit us up with friend requests if you’re looking for some action.
If there’s a game you want to see in our weekly Game with Loot Ninja nights, let us know.
I had a strong desire to play some Battlefield 1943 last night and wanted to squad-up with Steve, but he had other intentions. Here is the exact text message conversation.
Matt: You home for any BF1943 tonight or this weekend? Steve: Not until Sunday. Matt: You don’t love me anymore. Steve: I haven’t loved you for a long time. I’m moving in with Armando.
Heartless, but a lot of questions have been raised. Who exactly is this Armando and why is he taking Steve away from gaming? Some questions may never be answered…
We’ve all been pretty busy here at Loot Ninja HQ, so Game with Loot Ninja has been on a bit of a break. We’re back this week with out current obsession, Battlefield 1943. Both myself and Steve will be online tonight on the PS3 version of the game, whooping asses an taking names.

The future of games is going to be through downloadable media. It is inevitable. The sheer amount of money companies can save on packaging and burning and stocking fees will be tremendous. The only thing holding back this natural progression is the limits of what can be currently downloaded and at what quality. Most downloadable games are decent at best but are usually lacking some polish and are graphically inferior. Battlefield 1943 has set the bar for downloadable titles. Pick up a controller and get into this fight as fast as you can.
Battlefield 1943 dropped yesterday on Xbox 360 and is coming out later today on the PS3. After some server overload issues, the game seems to be running normally. From what we’ve played, it’s a shit-ton of fun and worth the $15 cost of admission. Check out the launch trailer, go buy the game, and meet us on online for a frag-fest.
The release date for Battlefield 1943 has been rumored, semi confirmed, denied, then semi confirmed again. Now, it’s official. The game will release next Wednesday, July 8th, on the Xbox 360 and Thursday, July 9th, on PS3. The news was announced on the official Battlefield 1943 Twitter account. Save up your $15 if you plan on picking this one up next week.
From what we’ve played of the game, it’s pretty fun. You get three maps and one game mode at the start, but Coral Sea and a new aerial game mode will be unlocked when the kill count for each console reaches 43 million (that’s for each console, not total). The more everyone plays, the faster a new map and gameplay mode will be released. I kinda like it.
DICE is trying to give us something to play until Bad Company 2 comes out. BF 1943 is the love child of the BF 1942 maps with the all new Frostbite graphics engine that Bad Company used. The game played like a Low Carb Strawberry beer. It was…..Okay. It was a pre-build so my hopes are not shattered. Asking for 15 bucks for a spiffed up multiplayer only game may be asking too much right now. The game will be available for download in June.
