Here is a great video of the new Lego Batman game and the two newest villains to inhabit it’s Lego goodness, Two Face and the Scarecrow. The clip of Two Face dual wielding and flipping his coin is priceless, Scarecrow I was less impressed by, although he does hit people with his hat. The Lego video game franchise so far is very strong and continues to look good.
LEGOs and Batman. Two staples of my youth that have done the mating dance and produced, what could be, one of coolest games based on the Batman franchise ever made. Bask in the glory that is the debut trailer as you wait until September to play the game. From the looks of things, there will be some nice two player co-op action.
Seems with the recent success of the Lego Themed Star Wars video games, all kinds of franchises are trying to cash in now. There is soon to come a Lego Batman and a Lego Indiana Jones video game as well. This makes me think that there will be a flood gate of more of these clones to come as well, perhaps Lego Spiderman and Superman or even Harry Potter?
The Lego games do have a certain appeal especially in the humor department, but will fans and gamers flock to more Lego games? The Star Wars game was pretty fun and played very well as a coop game and lets face it who didn’t like playing as Chewbaca and ripping the arms off of StormTroopers? But once the nostalgia and the comedy run out what you are left with is a kid game and I am not sure that Indiana Jones will have the same pull as Star Wars, Batman may especially with some of the screenshots we have scene of Scorpion and the Joker, as well as the ability to play through the game as a bad guy.
Nice huh? Found this little quip from one of our colleagues. I’ve seen a lot of mods for a lot of computers over the years, but this one deserves a place in the books (if they exist for things such as this that is). Read More »
Here are the newest Dark Knight posters for the upcoming Batman sequel. As you can ascertain, the Joker will be a centerpiece of the story and forecast calls for creepiness all around. Hit the jump for the others.
The new Batman movie has been on a viral campaign ever since a movie website went up and went down in a matter of weeks. Here is a link to the The Gotham Times, which is the apparent newspaper of the fictional city. Its an interesting read if you have nothing to do. There is a hidden easter egg to find. You will notice on page 1(there is a page link on the bottom right), on the leftmost column, under the Mobsters Fight for Dominance, there is a slight tear in the paper if you look close enough. Click on the left most tear, and you will notice the paper peels back. Beneath is a paper, but with the Joker’s own personal touches. Check it out.
Many of us played with LEGO’s when we were little. Some of us had to play with Mega blocks because dad had to get a case of Bud pounders instead. Anyway, we have all played the Lego Star Wars games and had an absolute blast. Well now we get to enjoy and expect much of the same when Lego Batman: The Game is released for all systems, both current and next gen. No official word on the date yet, but ign.com has some intimate details of some of the storyline. It looks like shit is gonna hit the fan when all the criminals that the Caped Crusaded and his homoerotic sidekick had captured all escape and run amok on unsuspecting Gotham. They also claim that it will be the same team that worked on the Star Wars games so expect a high replay value and many unlockables. Check back often for updates.
Warner Brothers gave the go-ahead, and will be publishing a new Batman game based on Legos. After seeing the huge reception of the Lego Star Wars games, Warner Brothers approached TT Games about getting their skills for the Batman franchise.
The game will be coming to multiple consoles, so expect Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii versions with the possiblity of PSP and DS versions as well.
This should be, hands down, the best Batman game ever when it’s released in 2008.
