Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Demo Goes Live

I have a “thing” for bears with erect noses and their bipedal sidekicks that travel in bookbags.  Especially when their names are derived from hillbilly instruments.  Fortunate for me, and the rest of you who enjoy a good platform title, XBL has released the demo for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts today! Woo-hoo!  That means that anyone with a fetish for bears in people clothes and a workout belt should be downloading this right about now. If you’re not into any of that I would still download the demo.  Banjo-Kazooie is known for being a pretty well-rounded platformer.

By the way, is it me, or does Banjo have the coolest hairdo?  It is SO 80’s (not to mention that he sports a tooth around his neck… fake ass Crocodile Dundee).

Banjo-Kazooie 3 Gets Release Date

There’s one thing I can’t stand about gaming: by the end of the year, if you’re not broke already, you’re sure as hell going to be. With a barrage of games raking in this Fall (get it? “raking”? nevermind), I thought I had already concluded my list of “games to get” only to be bitch-slapped with another title being released next month.

Everyone’s favorite teddy bear, and bird, return in the 360 exclusive Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts being released, officially, on November 11 in the US and November 14 in Europe. I would jump for joy, but the hole being dug in my pockets only portray a desolate future for me. Absolutely no one is going to be getting Christmas gifts this year. I guess I can pull off the “I bought it for me and you to play together” argument and hope that it still works.

Rare has also confirmed that a demo has been completed and in certification. Maybe I can build some shit a la Spore and create some nifty tank, or do random jumps to pretend that Banjo is Luke and Kazooie is Yoda being that Banjo is sporting the backpack that Luke used to train with in The Empire Strikes Back. Ha, and Rare thought I wouldn’t notice…

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts Overhyped

We have all heard about Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts a lot since E3 this year and everyone made a very big deal about it, but after watching this clip I have to say that I am unimpressed. The level design looks like it was made by a three year old and the graphics look horrific both in the levels and the HUD. This does not look like a platform style game at all and instead looks like a first generation racing game. It also does not help that whoever is giving the demo really sucks at the game as well, the game just did not look fun form what they showed off.

People are taking issue with my opinion on this and i am unsure why, watch the video it is clear. Ok I have not gotten hands on with the game yet but do you really need to? If you drive a piece of shiet that handles well does that make it less of a piece of shiet? This game looks terrible and yes BK is overhyped because since E3 it has been touted everywhere and after seeing it more in depth I give it a resounding meh.

Xbox Developer in Murder-Suicide

From Redmond, Washington a software development engineer in Microsoft’s Xbox division was murdered by her estranged husband who then committed suicide. Melissa Batten, 36, was shot to death by her husband Joseph Batten, also 36. Unfortunately Melissa had already gotten an order of protection against him, but things escalated past that.

In her request for a protection order, Melissa Batten described how her husband had called her more than 30 times on July 19 and 20 and warned her never to hang up on him. She also described a chain of circumstances that led to the phone calls, including how her husband broke into her workplace at Microsoft on July 16 and was caught by security guards.

Joseph Batten confronted her in a parking lot, shot her several times with a 9-mm handgun and then shot himself in the head, police reported.

Our thoughts and prayers here at Loot Ninja go out to Melissa’s friends and family.

Here is a video of Melissa at E3 giving an overview of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts:

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts Debut Gameplay

The SNES/N64 platform phenom title is finally on its way to next gen. The game has changed, a lot. This shows you running around like a homeless man on speed doing all kinds of wacky shit. Its a nice change of pace from all the “shoot the guy in the head” games. Its juvenile, yes, but your brother’s pain in the ass kids got to play something during football season.

Banjo Kazooie 3 Coming This Year

Banjo Kazooie

In an interview with Stephen Totilo over at MTV, Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios, confirmed that Banjo Kazooie 3 will be coming this year.

I’m super-excited about what they’re doing with ‘Banjo.’ I think ‘Banjo’ is going to be a big hit for us this holiday.

We haven’t heard anything about Rare’s upcoming Xbox 360 game since the first trailer at X06 (yes, as in 2006). Now that we have a release date, I’m sure more information is going to start pouring out.

Rumor Mill: Goldeneye Coming to XBLA

Jesus tapdancing christ. I really hope this is true. Goldeneye was the first game I got for N64 and I played it all through high school and had some sick drunken deathmatches in college. According to Xbox Evolved, they have sources, many sources, that indicate a new and revamped multiplayer as well as updated graphics is on the way. There is also word that Rareware is also planning on releasing other classics such as Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie. Could be bullshit, but I really hope it isn’t.
