The Super Genintari

Firs thing you are thinking is WTF is a Super Genintari? Well quite simply it is a Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, Genesis and Super NES all squeezed into one game console. This bad boy will give you the best of 4 worlds of retro gaming. It is a bit on the big side but some of the size is due to the cartridge set up and the internal power brick. Pretty interesting design and very versatile.

Lego Star Fox

I just can’t get enough of video game inspired Lego work. Seems like Lego and video games are going together like sex and cigarettes now a days, even Halo will be getting it’s own version immortalized in small blocks.

This guy has made the first level of Star Fox and even animated it using stop motion captures. I have to say this is pretty awesome work and we look forward to seeing more, how bout some Lego Mario Kart?

PS3 Tank Tech Demo

Tank Tech looks to be a pretty interesting game with a very unique use of the PS3 camera. I like how your artwork is imported into the actual game and you can even make your own unique levels to play on. I wonder what the limitations to the technology will be and how elaborate can I make my tank before the camera overloads? As someone who likes to draw and sketch, I am all over this one and think it has huge potential!

Prototype CES 2008 Action

We got a little bit of a better look at Prototype, an open world game that puts you smack in the middle of a war. After watching the video and seeing the potential the game has, I am very anxious to see this in it’s final form. The game screams action and really loos like a cross between Assassin’s Creed and GTA/Crackdown. Some of the art in the game really is dark and adds to the mood of the game as well, definitely a title to keep your eye on.

Lego Guitar Hero Controller

Lego Guitar Hero controllerIf you are like me and are frustrated by a strum bar that does not work on your RockBand guitar what do you do… make one out of Lego of course. Well at least that’s what this guy did, David McNeely made a fully functional Guitar Hero controller out of the guts of an old controller and a few Lego pieces.

Aside from being very creative and looking pretty damn cool, it also is fully functional! Unfortunately it is only for the PS2, maybe he will work on a PS3 or Xbox 360 version soon?

This is my third Lego guitar, made for use with the Playstation 2 versions of Guitar Hero. While the Explorer and Warlock guitars are regular six-string guitars, this controller is a four-string bass guitar, modeled after a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass guitar.

I gutted the real controller, taking out the electronic boards and special working components, and placed them inside a Lego chassis of my design. Every working part works as well as they do in the real controller.

Metroid Cosplay to the Max

Metroid Cosplay
I came across some serious cosplay while reading the latest Nintendo Power, for those of you who may not know cosplay is dressing up like a video game character. There is a girl named Jenni Kallberg that has taken Metroid cosplay and fanaticism to the next level. Not only does the costume look realistic, but she looks really cute in it as well. Jenni is a Swedish born gamer that really enjoys Metroid and started making cosplay costumes at age 14.

Not only does she do Metroid cosplay but on her site she also does Ghost in the Shell, Battle Royale and The 5th Element. Really great looking costumes and the site has a pretty cool name as well Pixelninja.

Old school arcade fun

PongEver wonder what the old school arcade days might have looked like back in the day? I’m not talking about the days of Contra in the arcade, but more like the days of Pong and the real early classics. As a child of the 80’s I had seen plenty of arcades in my day, but I can’t say that I had ever seen the original Pong in working condition, well all of that changed on my latest tip to San Franciso, I stumbled across an old school arcade complete with old wooden games and fortune tellers. This as the eqivalt a video game hall of fame and I could d othin mre than to just snap pictures and yell out “holy shiet, I can’t believe they have this!”

Hit the jump for even more arcade classics.

Skooba Design Laptop Sleeve

We just received a package from our new friends at Skooba Design containing a padded laptop sleeve, but not just any sleeve, a DIY or Design It Yourself model that you can decorate yourself. We had originally tried to sign up for a charity event where a few different blogs would get together and decorate their own DIY custom sleeve and then raise money for charity, but there wasn’t enough commitment from others. So we are thinking we will deck this one out with Loot Ninja graphics and then make it a give away for one of our readers instead. What would you guys like to see on this bad boy?

And thanks again to the folks at Skooba Design.
