Remember the creepy ass Mario or the creepy ass Bowser. Here is the not so creepy ass, Nikp Bellic. This was based off a real person, so its not as disturbing as the first two. Still, this is great work indeed. Here is their homepage which has some great art on it.
This guy screams hardcore fan, he took an entire room in his house and pretty much dedicated it to Microsoft and the Xbox 360. He painted the walls green, put up Xbox logos and even has green furniture. I like the idea of having a gaming room, but I wouldn’t make it green or put giant logos on the wall unless the company sponsored me, best part of the room is the in-wall mini fridge, icy cold drinks while you play games FTW.
Is it my imagination or does he sound a bit creepy describing the room, like someone should break open the walls to look for the dead bodies. Also got creepy when he flipped off the lights and turned the green LED’s on, I was having some Silence of the Lambs flashbacks at this point.
Savannah College of Art and Design professor Daniel Floyd put a pretty good movie together to show the progression (or lack there of) of video games and sex. It is set in a cartoon style with some quick witted humor to help make the subject a bit more light hearted. The discussion of Mature content in video games is right on and the stereotype of video gamers as well. Video games with sex automatically get an AO, which as the professor states is interesting since no matter how much violence is put in a game, it will never get an AO rating. This video is right on, enjoy.
These realistic paintings of video game characters are really creeping me out. The newest is Sonic the Hedgehog. Looks rabid to me. Might want to run away from that thing before you get infected.
The artist is pretty good, but damn these things make me want to stay far away from the characters.
Some things just shouldn’t be drawn. This rendering of Pikachu is an astoudning achievement by a very, very, talented artist. It will still haunt my dreams however. Apparently Pikachus are mammals. I did not know that. This was created by an artist known as Dogsfather. Amazing work. Still creepiest as fuck.
Firs thing you are thinking is WTF is a Super Genintari? Well quite simply it is a Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, Genesis and Super NES all squeezed into one game console. This bad boy will give you the best of 4 worlds of retro gaming. It is a bit on the big side but some of the size is due to the cartridge set up and the internal power brick. Pretty interesting design and very versatile.
I just can’t get enough of video game inspired Lego work. Seems like Lego and video games are going together like sex and cigarettes now a days, even Halo will be getting it’s own version immortalized in small blocks.
This guy has made the first level of Star Fox and even animated it using stop motion captures. I have to say this is pretty awesome work and we look forward to seeing more, how bout some Lego Mario Kart?
Tank Tech looks to be a pretty interesting game with a very unique use of the PS3 camera. I like how your artwork is imported into the actual game and you can even make your own unique levels to play on. I wonder what the limitations to the technology will be and how elaborate can I make my tank before the camera overloads? As someone who likes to draw and sketch, I am all over this one and think it has huge potential!
We got a little bit of a better look at Prototype, an open world game that puts you smack in the middle of a war. After watching the video and seeing the potential the game has, I am very anxious to see this in it’s final form. The game screams action and really loos like a cross between Assassin’s Creed and GTA/Crackdown. Some of the art in the game really is dark and adds to the mood of the game as well, definitely a title to keep your eye on.
If you are like me and are frustrated by a strum bar that does not work on your RockBand guitar what do you do… make one out of Lego of course. Well at least that’s what this guy did, David McNeely made a fully functional Guitar Hero controller out of the guts of an old controller and a few Lego pieces.
Aside from being very creative and looking pretty damn cool, it also is fully functional! Unfortunately it is only for the PS2, maybe he will work on a PS3 or Xbox 360 version soon?
This is my third Lego guitar, made for use with the Playstation 2 versions of Guitar Hero. While the Explorer and Warlock guitars are regular six-string guitars, this controller is a four-string bass guitar, modeled after a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass guitar.
I gutted the real controller, taking out the electronic boards and special working components, and placed them inside a Lego chassis of my design. Every working part works as well as they do in the real controller.
