As of January 1, 2008, we began using a 10 point review scale, instead of our previous 5 point scale. We will not be changing our review scores prior to this date, but you can just multiply by 2 and get the new score if you want
This is the breakdown of the Loot Ninja Scoring Rubric for our gaming reviews.
- Illegal: The fact someone got paid for this is a sin against man.
- Horrible: I can’t believe this was approved.
- Painful: A good idea gone very wrong.
- Bad: Some things work but most don’t.
- Passable: Must be a huge fan of the series to even read the box, otherwise forget it.
- Decent: Game doesn’t suck, but sure as hell doesn’t rock. Rent it at your own risk.
- Good: If you really like the genre and/or characters, give a go. This is the line between buying and renting.
- Very Good: Strong title and one of the best in its class.
- Superb: Not quite a home run, but a game that you need to buy. A killer app indeed.
- Outstanding: The pinnacle of perfection. A rare title indeed.
This is the old scoring system, just so you’re aware:
- Someone got paid to make this and they walk the streets a free man.
- Only rent if you are a huge fan of the genre otherwise keep walking.
- Strong recommended rental, if not buy depending on the lasting appeal and multiplayer.
- Very good game and should pick this one up as soon as you can. This game will provide good times for awhile.
- This is a must have plain and simple. Pick up a case of beer, some beef jerky, and lock your door. Its magic time.
