Real Life Chainsaw Gun

How many times have you thought about how cool it would be to have a real life Lancer (chainsaw gun) like Marcus Fenix? Don’t lie!

Well like many things that seem great in theory, a real life Lancer is kind of dumb. This guy took an AR15 and attached a 14 inch chainsaw to it and then attacked some pumpkins in the forest. At least now we are all safe from those very dangerous pumpkins, that will show those orange mofos to try and sink our cities using giant worms.

What do you think, great idea or walking lawsuit waiting to happen? I am going with the latter.

Wii Still Selling Like Crazy on eBay

Nintendo’s Wii may still be the must have console this year, at least according to eBay.  The Wii is already the most searched for item on eBay across all categories.  Not only that but the Wii Fit is second on the list.

The Wii has an average selling price of about $100 above retail cost on eBay.  It has been reported that 3,171 Wiis  and 1,059 Wii Fit bundles were sold in 24 hours on Black Friday.  Either consumers are worried they won’t be able to find a Wii or Wii Fit this holiday season or they just don’t want to leave the house to purchase these gifts and will settle to pay a premium price for them.

I guess it looks like we will be seeing another holiday season of intelligent shoppers buying up all of the Wii products they can find and selling them on eBay for a profit.  I just can’t seem to fault the more intelligent shoppers here, the early bird gets the worm.

A Bad Gift Idea

The Holiday Season can be a particularly trying time for the friends and family of the tech-geek.  We usually buy anything we want the day it comes out because we’ve been waiting for well over a year since it was originally announced.  I usually end up with a shit load of Best Buy gift cards which is perfect because it allows me to buy the newest games and gadgets as they come out throughout the coming year.  But, this is somehow unsatisfying for my beloved wife and family because they feel like gift cards are thoughtless and lame, I don’t but they do.  So in an effort to fulfill their shopping desires I took a look around the good old internet to try to find something that may have flown under my radar this year, and I did.

I came across this voice changer on gadget_brado.com and thought that if it really works it could provide hours of fun.  Alas the joy of calling your best friend to tell him that he has herpes without the pain of having to disguise your voice as some clinic worker.  The only problem is that the person that you think this would be the perfect gift for is the person that should least have it.  So, while this may make my wish list this year, I’m not buying it for anyone.

Impressions: Killzone 2 Beta (PS3)

In terms of hype, I’m not sure there’s much on the PlayStation platforms that comes close to the Killzone franchise. From the CGI trailers to being called the end-all-be-all of console shooters, there’s a lot to live up to with Killzone 2. By now we’ve all seen the amazing in-game videos and no one can deny the game is flat out beautiful. But more importantly, how does it play? I’ve had a chance to spend a good deal of time with the Killzone 2 Beta on the PS3. Read on for how it stacks up.

Like I said, graphically the game is top notch, even in the multiplayer beta. Character models, animations, and the environment all look fantastic. In the same breath, sounds are done equally as well. Various gun shots, explosions, and environmental effects are some of the best I’ve heard in a shooter recently.

Dead Space: Downfall

Dead Space is one of my favorite single player games of the year.  The game had the rare ability to keep my attention focused on the story so it was really a no-brainer to give the animated film a shot.  Dead Space: Downfall is a prequel to the events that took place during the game.  Overall I have to admit I was entertained and that’s the point right?

I am not going to pretend to be a pro when it comes to judging animation in a film.  I am not into anime at all and I barely watch regular animated shows but I can say it kind of feels like a crappy Titan A.E.

Review: WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2009 (Xbox 360)

My favorite gaming memories are the ones I experienced when I was sitting in my dorm room, half-bombed with my roommates playing WWF No Mercy. Wrestling games were the total multiplayer experience. It was often every man for themselves and more often than not, alliances were broken and deals were made so the best player did not always win. Or that feeling you get when you are doing a Royal Rumble and its on random and your buddy gets Stone Cold Steve Austin and then you run out as the Faboulous Moolah. Wrestling games were as unpredictable as they were fun and WWW Smackdown vs RAW 2009 may be one the best wrestling games to come out in awhile.

Fans of the WWE SvR series will notice that not a lot of changes have been made, but there have been some nice upgrades and tweaks to make the game very enjoyable. There are a ton of match options, rules, and match types that you can experience in the game and they make it very easy to choose which. Every match can be easily chosen and/or tweaked to your liking and this makes for a great overall experience. People had complained that the menus were not changed from years’ past, but it is not flashy yet it gets the job done. No one crucifies EA Sports when their menus have had little change in the past. A great tweak this year is the ability to change the AI of your opponents creating a truly customizable difficulty. Veterans of the franchise will likely turn it up for a challenge while newcomers will start out at retarded levels of intelligence.

Case of the Mondays Video

Today is World AIDS Day which makes people who are not already aware of the devastating global affect this disease has on millions. We can only hope through research and understanding that one day we can put an end to this crippling disease. Until then, we have this.
