Peggle is one of those casual games that is alright to be loved by hardcore gamers, at least that’s what I tell myself. The game was originally released in early 2007 for the PC and was able to garner all sorts of rave reviews. The basic concept of the game is to shoot a ball from the top of the screen in hopes that it will ricochet off of as many pegs as possible on its way down to the bottom. Sounds simple enough, but there is so much more to it.

The demo for Ninja Blade was released in Japan late last year, but this is our first taste of it here in the States. The demo introduces you to the main character, Ken Ogawa, who is out to save Tokyo from deadly parasites known as alpha-worms. Of course, you are the only one who can stop them. Alright, so you weren’t interested in Ninja Blade for the story anyway, it’s all about the gameplay, but is it any good?
The demo starts you off in a helicopter where your “master” is explaining the task at hand. In no time, you are free falling from the helicopter dicing up monsters as you fall. This is where you immediately receive your first taste of the cinematic action sequences.

I kind of wish I had at least some ability to sing now. Give it a shot, you only risk soul crushing embarrassment and we all know that doesn’t hurt.

Ubisoft has announced that it will be adding two more Mac titles to its line-up this year, Prince of Persia and Shaun White Snowboarding. Both games will be available through Ubisoft’s digital store, GameTree Online and at traditional retail locations in March 2009.
“The Mac community has responded very positively to our previous game offerings and we’re excited to provide Mac users with a new selection of games through our relationship with TransGaming,” said Andy Swanson, senior director of strategic sales and partnerships at Ubisoft.
TransGaming Inc. will be the developer porting the titles.
Mac versions of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Petz Sports will also be released at select retail establishments for the first time in March 2009.
Mac gaming is still alive folks, get it while it’s hot.

Have you been on the fence about whether or not to get the GTA-style Payback for the iPhone? Now is your chance to finally give it a try.
The developer, Apex Designs, has reduced the price from $6.99 to $4.99. They have informed us this is an experiment since they are new to the App Store so we can’t confirm how long the price reduction will last.
To add to the good news, the developer has submitted an update to the App Store and should be going live any day now. The list of updates includes:
- Much improved minimap
- Easy way to restart missions
- Built-in instructions
- Optional new camera angle
- Support for different device orientations for more comfortable use on the iPod touch
- Bug fixes
- Lots of other tweaks
Unlike most developers, Apex Designs didn’t create a lite version of the game. At this time there is no way to try Payback free of charge. It’s all or nothing folks.

Nintendo has officially announced that the Nintendo DSi will launch in the United States on April 5, 2009.
“Ever since the arrival of the first Game Boy, consumers worldwide have turned to Nintendo for their portable gaming,” commented Cammie Dunaway, executive VP of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. “Nintendo DSi builds on Nintendo’s commitment to bringing fun and creative entertainment to everyone, and will allow consumers to personalize and share their very own experiences.”
The handheld will retail for $169.99 and will initially be available in only blue and black.
This latest revision of Nintendo’s money maker will include two cameras, a voice recorder and the ability to play music from an SD card. The DSi will also have the ability to download games and applications from the DSiWare store with prices starting at 200 points.
The DSi has been available in Japan since late last year and has been selling well. Hopefully you will be able to find one here in the states on launch day.

When you were young, were you one of those kids that always wanted to dress up as a biker? Well, now it’s possible because Microsoft has released GTA IV The Lost and Damned inspired Avatar clothing available on Xbox Live. The list of biker gear includes leather jackets, leggings and even a skull ring, my personal favorite.
Hopefully Microsoft keeps giving us game inspired clothing for free. How cool would it be to equip your Avatar with a Ghostbusters inspired proton pack? We can always dream.
As always, the clothing is free to download and it’s marked with a gold star so you know it’s fresh. The list is long so check it out after the jump.
