I Got an iPad and it’s Glorious

This weekend I took a drive down to my local Apple Store in Albany to check out the iPad. I haven’t gotten hands on with it prior to this weekend and I went with full intentions of buying one. Guess what? That’s what happened. I got a the 32GB WiFi version since I decided I really didn’t need the 3G edition. So how is it? Well, you read the title of this post, so you can probably guess I’m in love. The iPad is flat out amazing.

I haven’t had the chance to get a lot of gaming in on it yet. With all the time I’ve been spending getting everything setup, gaming has taken a temporary back seat, but that’s going to change very soon. We’ll have iPad reviews coming your way, so those of you who are early adopters like myself and Darren will get our takes on the new gaming scene. Right now, most of the games are HD versions of iPhone games, but some are unique to the iPad. That’s what has me most excited. And buying Plants vs. Zombies… again

If there’s anything you want to know about the iPad or just want to sound off about Apple’s new baby, drop us some comments!

I don't think it's going to revolutionize gaming or anything. I'll bust out my gameboy if I want to play a handheld game like tetris instead of shoveling out the dough from my bank account.

    1. I don't think it's going to revolutionize mobile gaming in the same way the iPhone did, but it's going to open the door for bigger and better games than the iPhone offers.

  2. So far have you had to pay for any apps you already own on the iphone that have been ported to ipad?

    1. I bought Things, which I use so often it's beyond worth the money (have it on my Mac and iPhone). Also paid for Words with Friends when I already own it on iPhone. PopCap sent me Plants vs. Zombies, or else I would have paid for that again.

A lot of my apps are universal – Instapaper Pro, Soundhound, Evernote, 1password Pro, IM+, WordPress, IMDB, Pandora.

Apps I'm waiting for iPad versions: Facebook, Tweetie (now Twitter owned), Beejive, Sportacular, SiriusXM, Dropbox, TextExpander, LinkedIn, Flickr, iFitness… I think that's about most of the apps I use all the time.

you dont find with the Itab that the inability to do two things at once to be a more than slight inconvenience. Its a cool gadget but i think that untill the new operating system comes in whenever that happens it will be crippled by doing just one thing at a time…maybe its just cause i have a bad case of ADD that i feel like that would piss me off.
