Review: Sims 3 World Adventures (Part 2) – Egypt

Yesterday I started my review of The Sims 3 World Adventures with a tale of my adventure to China. Today we travel to Al Simhara, Egypt. Traveling to Egypt cost a bit more than China but well worth it. This country and adventures has the real “Indiana Jones” feel complete with a marketplace and tombs with treasure. Read on to learn more about my adventures…

This is the base camp where the Adventure starts. Everything the Sim needs to survive is outside in the camp. Not far from base camp was the market and a store that carried all the supplies I needed – a tent, shower in a can and some dried food. I stocked up and was ready to start my first Adventure, to find some lost papers inside the Tomb of Discovery.

Once entering the tomb the puzzles were pretty much the same as the ones in China. Inspect walls and holes to find switches, stand on floor plates to activate doors or discover other floor switches. There were many new things to explore such as pools. Tell your Sim to dive in and they might find a tunnel, a treasure, a key or a switch.

The pools are also good for putting out fires. I encountered a fire trap and had to jump in the water to extinguish my Sim – once she was wet, she could cross the fire safely.

The deeper I got into the tombs, the more complex the puzzles became, but the treasure found along the way was well worth it. Ancient coins, old relics and I found the one thing that you can only find in Egypt…

.. that’s right a mummy! My Sim opened a treasure chest and activated a mummy. The mummy is very slow and was cool to look at. Not knowing what I should do, she did nothing. Bad move. The mummy jumped her and beat the crap out of her and knocked her out. On the good side, he did not curse her which would eventually mean her death if not removed.

She eventually found the papers from her quest and headed back to the the village to turn them in. While in town she learned an Egyptian song that she now sings at home all the time while cooking. She also found some turquoise, gems and bags of coins which she turned in for cash, enough to fund another trip. In completing all the missions, she also earned a lot of visa points and eventually got her Egypt visa up to level 1 and could now stay up to 5 days on the next visit.

Exhausted and worn out, she returned to her home to rest and wait for her next trip. She decided to start writing about her adventures and quit her job so she would have more time. Who needed a real job, she made tons of money on these trips. The next stop… France!
