Show Me Your Gaming Setup, Win Loot Ninja Shirts

Justin's Game Setup

Video game connoisseurs come in all shapes and sizes.  We have the over the top “magic missle” wizards, and we have the casual gamers who can get by playing nothing but Peggle and UNO on Xbox Live (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!).  Point is, we see a lot of diversity in the gaming community.  This ends up echoing over to our gaming setup that we use day in and day out at home.  We could have over the top everything in our gaming collection of Japanese imported PS2 titles, with the room decorated with Mario or Sonic plastered on the wall, or we could also just have a padded white room with a very small stack of DS games.  It could go either way!

Where do you stack up? Do you only buy the one of a kind collector’s editions of games? Or do you buy used?  Are you the extreme or the sublime? I don’t care!  I want to see it.  You see that glorious setup pictured above? That’s all mine baby.  Ikea furniture and all.  I’ll go into detail about it in just a little bit, but I’ll get to the point of my article.  I want to see how the Loot Ninja clan gets their game on.  I want to see your gaming setup… And showing it to me could get you a Loot Ninja shirt!

I purchased all of my speakers over time back when I was fresh out of high school at my first “real” job.  I was living at home with the parents at the time so all of the money I made on the road traveling ended up as “fun money”.  I purchased the matching set of Polk Audio rear speakers and Harmon Kardon receiver at one time, then added the Sony TV later for movie watching.  This was all back when 5.1 DTS sound was the new thing, so I prepared accordingly.  It hurts me to say that at the time I paid almost $1,300 bucks for my TV and only has component video (another NEW thing at the time).  6.5 years later though, the setup and subwoofers still tickle my cockles when I crank up a DTS movie or video game with great audio.

The next picture below is my secondary game setup with my PS2 and Wii hookup.

I really want to get a cheap 5.1 system in a box for this room so I could rock out the old school Guitar Hero games properly, but I can’ t really do it since it’s technically still my second bedroom.  That 5.1 system sure would help out with getting into Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, but in the end I need to be prepared for other gamers (and family) to come over to my new place.  The second bedroom is mostly used for airing out my stinky ice hockey equipment (some of it seen above) and the occasional Guitar Hero session of Freebird on Hard.

With that I want to see how the rest of you game.  Please send all of your submissions to gamingsetup [at] loot [dash] ninja.com with “Gaming Setup” in the e-mail title.  Be sure to include a sign in the photo that says “Loot-Ninja.com” or have a picture of a ninja in the photo.  Please no photoshops or Google images.  The ninja or “Loot-Ninja.com” is for verification purposes.  I would prefer .jpg files for the photos, but then again I’m not too picky.  I’ll pick a few of the best (and worst) gaming setups and give props for the good, or poke a little fun for the bad.  It’s all in good fun guys.  I will also be giving away Loot Ninja t-shirts for the best, the worst, and the most original game setup (accessories).  I won’t be too brutal so don’t worry! What are you waiting for? Get to e-mailing!

      1. Your fine John! I got your e-mail and can match it up accordingly. There aren't too many pictures out there of military personnel in uniform playing on a gaming setup. :P

  5. How long do we have to submit our entries?

  6. I will be issuing a reminder today with one of our very own Loot Ninja writer setups. The contest will probably go for a few weeks…… So get your pics in NOW! :P
