Nintendo DSi
Nintendo’s latest handheld, the DSi, isn’t the sexiest lady out there. It shed the shiny casing for a matte finish and was only initially available in black and blue, but inside, it’s a damn powerful device. You get bigger screens, better WiFi, a more polished OS with support for downloadable games for a great price. If there’s one handheld system to pick up this year, it’s the Nintendo DSi.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars – Review Excerpt:
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an experience that every PSP [and DS] owner should have. It is impossible to overstate how great this game turned out. Even for those who played the DS version to death (like myself), this version has a feel all its own. Buy immediately. Seriously, turn off your computer and go. Like now-ish.

Scribblenauts – Review Excerpt:
Scribblenauts is an absolute blast. Coming up with inventive ways to solve each puzzle and collect each Starite will keep you coming back for more. There are hundreds of levels to complete in the game, making this is great value for $29.99. Every DS owner owes it to themselves to check out Scribblenauts.

Peggle (iPhone or DS) – Review Excerpt (XBLA version):
Peggle is a fantastic game for anyone looking for a challenging and engaging title. It’s easy to pick up and play, but absurdly difficult to master. You may spend hours on a single map, attempting to complete a single score challenge, but that is the joy of the game. Peggle is extremely fun, extremely addicting, and extremely challenging so don’t miss out on the fun.

Critter Crunch (iPhone) – Review Excerpt (PS3 version):
Puzzle games come and go, but really good addicting puzzlers are a little more scarce. Critter Crunch completely falls into the latter category. A cute 2D hand drawn art style with simple, yet difficult to master gameplay and a ton of different puzzles make this a must buy for any [iPhone] owner.

mophie Juice Pack Air – Recommendation Excerpt:
For long trips or just extended use of your iPhone, I highly recommend picking one of these up. It has come in handy and saved the day for me quite a few times (like when we rescued Karl and I wanted to take pictures to post to Twitter and Facebook). Based on all the battery packs I’ve tested, Mophie’s Juice Pack Air is hands down the best on the market.

Gran Turismo PSP – Review Excerpt:
There’s so much content packed into the game’s 936MB download that you’ll be hard pressed to look for even more to do in Gran Turismo. Even though you’ll probably never purchase all of the game’s over 800 cars, you’ll want to keep improving your collection, both on your own and through trading and sharing with friends over WiFi. Whether you download this game from the PlayStation Network or buy it on UMD, racing fans need to pick up Gran Turismo for the PSP on day one.

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe
If you’re into tower defense (and you should be), PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe is the best way to get your fix on the PSP. The PS3 version, amazing in its own right, was ported to the handheld with flying colors. Do yourself a favor and get this game downloaded to your PSP right away.
