Looking at the latest batch of DLC for DJ Hero, an idea struck me. I don’t just want these songs in game, I want to listen to them on my iPod. Even further, I would gladly pay for an MP3 soundtrack of the entire game. Yes, I know I could download a torrent, but I would fully support the artists who put in the time to make these mixes.
The one major difference to me between DLC for games like Guitar Hero and DJ Hero is that tracks from Guitar Hero or Rock Band can easily be had in musical form. If I like a song, I’ll grab it for myself to listen outside of the game. With DJ Hero, that currently isn’t possible. If the DLC included an MP3 version of the mixes, I’d be even more inclined to buy them.
Maybe one day these tracks will be available. Until then, people will continue to semi-illegally download music they can’t buy.
i totally agree i myself have recorded the audio from the game to have some of the mixes in the game by putting it into party mode and connecting the audio out to my laptop i dont see this as breaking the law as i legitimatly own the game and as such have paid my rights to enjoy the music on this game and mixes like this arnt just kicking around anywhere
