In the way of eagerly awaited sequels Mass Effect 2 is the focus of many fan-boys wed dreams. Not quite the second coming of Christ but it’s up there. To make you all jealous I got my hands on it at the Eurogamer Expo in London. In the spirit of how all sequels should be Mass Effect 2 is an improvement over the original.

Mass Effect 2 is prettier than the previous installment. In game and cut scenes looked very sharp and smooth. The combat controls were improved massively (no pun intended). Running and shooting didn’t feel clunky or slow to respond which made the combat gameplay very fluid. The demo on the expo floor wasn’t much more than a combat section and a cut scene. All things considered it looks and feels like a nice clean update of the original so expect it be a huge success again.
