Games on Demand Pricing Still Sucks

Microsoft added two new games today to their Xbox 360 Games on Demand service, Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Both games are priced at $29.99 in the US. A quick look at GameStop’s website shows you can pick them a bit cheaper.

Call of Duty 3 runs $14.99 used at GameStop, while R6V2 runs $24.99 used (and $29.99 new). I can understand pricing that game at $29.99 for Games on Demand, but CoD3 is a bargain title at this point. Asking gamers to fork over thirty bones for the game is a slap in the face.

It’s going to take gamers talking with their wallets to change the pricing schemes for Games on Demand. Don’t buy this stuff at these prices. Go out and pick up a used copy of the game for much cheaper. You’ll have something to sell later when you don’t want or need the game anymore.

I thought “Games on demand” would be one of my favorite 360 features. Wrong. It could have been great but instead it has limited titles at ridiculous prices.

Games on Demand is ridiculous seriously. The prices should not be this high for a digital copy. I’m sticking with physical media which has a resale value and looks better on shelves..

  3. [...] Games on Demand Pricing Still Sucks. It’s really simple, don’t buy them. Order them online. Why complain? It makes no sense. If they aren’t selling, MS will see that and adjust prices accordingly. It really bother me when people complain about convenience and the additional price tag associated with it. [...]
