Detective Sim following leads on the roof
The first game demo I saw at Friday’s EA Blogger’s Day was the newest MySims game, MySims Agents, demonstrated by Lead Producer, Rachel Bernstein, and Assistant Designer, Geoff Mitchell. A bit different from the previous versions, this one is an Adventure game where you get to solve mysteries.

Rachel Bernstein, Lead Producer
You start as a detective solving cases on Main Street. You have hopes of becoming an agent and soon you reach that goal. Once you’re an agent, you get an office and can recruit other Sims to help you. You have a sidekick, none other than one of the original Sims, Buddy. He tags along with you throughout the game. When your teams are formed you can dispatch them on missions and earn rewards. You have an office than can be decorated but you no longer have to build furniture or buildings.

Selecting recruits
We played one mission in a house and had to solve the case of who broke the crystal. We had different tools we could use like one that discovered foot prints. Along the way there are puzzles to figure out that unlock doors and boxes revealing more clues. Everything can be examined. The longer you play, your tools will be upgraded and the difficulty increases. After the demo I got some hands on play, so I finished following the trail of footprints to a toolbox where I solved a puzzle to reveal the silver hammer. Fun stuff!

Opening the tool box
I’m very excited about this game, I think it’s going to be the best MySims game yet. I noticed that there was no lag or load time like the previous two. The graphics looked great and if you look closely you can see other animations in the background like water moving and butterflies flying. The game also allows for vast spaces unlike the previous versions. We climbed up on boxes and reached a high beam in the ceiling but we could look down and see where we had been. The depth perception was very good.

The game will take about 15 hours to play if you stay on task and longer if you take the time to discover all the surprises and puzzles. The more puzzles and clues you get, the more mini games you can unlock.
Game will be available on Sept 29th for both the Wii and the DS. No online or wifi capabilities.
