The Beatles are arguably the most iconic band of all time. For years, music lovers around the world have flocked to the band’s music to raise their spirits and hearken back to better days. With the release of The Beatles Rock Band, gamers are given the unique opportunity to step foot in the virtual shoes of a Beatle and follow their path of success through a portion of their catalog. The result is a terrifically fun, albeit short gaming experience that should not be missed.
The main mode of play in The Beatles Rock Band is the Story, which starts you off in The Cavern as the Fab Four start off their musical journey. From there, you travel to The Ed Sullivan Show, Shea Stadium, and Budokan before moving to Abbey Road Studios, where you being to encounter the Dreamscapes. These amazing visual representations of the songs will take your eyes off the notes you should be playing; they really are that damn cool. I suggest putting the game on Easy with No Fail mode and just sitting back and watching the Dreamscapes after you play through each song. As your progress, you’ll unlock photos of the band by getting 3 and 5 star scores on each song. As you get more and more photos, you’ll unlock six prize videos from the band’s past, which are a nice touch for the hardcore Beatles fan.

There is very little wrong with The Beatles Rock Band. The game is an amazing journey through the career of the band. However, the game isn’t that long. It took me roughly 3 hours to get through the Story mode on Hard Drums, getting 5 stars on every song the first time through. There are still Challenges and online play, but I would have liked to see more songs to expand the gameplay time. Some of my favorite Beatles tracks aren’t there out of the box, but will be coming as DLC, forcing me to spend more money to extend the game.
Even with the game being short, The Beatles Rock Band is a must have for fans of the band and fans of rhythm games. It’s one of the best Rock Band experiences produced and worth every penny of your hard earned cash. If you already have a cornucopia of plastic instruments strewn about your house, skip the bundle and just grab the game. You won’t regret the purchase.

Am I the only person on earth that has never liked a single Beatles song?
Yes. Yes you are. I suggest crying.
Don’t worry Ryan, you aren’t the only one that doesn’t really like the Beatles. I never really got into them? I was more a Who and Stones fan? I sure as shit would rather play a few tracks from Quadrophenia than “Here Comes The Sun”…..
The Beatles are a bunch of poons. Journey too.
i could care less about the beatles too. one band for rock band is weak maybe if they added songs on rock band 2 i would have cared. this a ploy to get non gamers to play rock band even more. i’m going to hold out for rock band : pantera
you are not alone.

Why do they not have the bass part in front of McCartney?
How can you tell that it’s NOT the bass part?
Also, isn’t the bass part on the right hand side on ALL the other RockBand games? Maybe it’s a continuity thing…
The bass part is the part in the middle since it’s got four “strings”.
Actually, the bass is on the right side, as is the case in all Rock Band games. The left is guitar and the middle is drums.
Drums, I see. Silly me, I forgot about that. So there aren’t two guitar parts then? That is crazy to me that they aren’t more real-to-life about the instruments, especially with the Beatles. I’ve never played Rock Band though, so you’ll have to excuse me.
Speaking of string number- Has anyone ever explained why they didn’t make these games with 6 buttons and scaled the difficulty accordingly?
i think its an outrage to say the beatles were a bad band. what they did was start a whole new era of music paving the way for many genres including metal. ie.helter skelter.
ehh kids these days………….
