I discovered one of the lesser known features of the PS3 firmware update v3.0 today while setting up my new PS3 Slim. While re-downloading all of my PSN games and content, I noticed that I was queuing up an unusually large amount of data. Upon inspecting the Download Management section, I found that I had 29 items in the download queue. That’s a lot more than was previously allowed.
The last time I downloaded such a large amount of data was a few months back when I hit the wall at 15 items in the download queue. Now with firmware 3.0, you can queue up metric tons of content from the PSN and let your PS3 download them for days on end. Not the coolest of features, but it’s a nice touch.
Check back tomorrow as I detail my full switch from my launch 60GB PS3 to the new PS3 Slim.

There are a few games (like SF4 and Demons Souls) that do not let you transfer save files… this is one of the biggest reasons why I’m not even bothering to move to the Slim. Let me know if you run into any similar issues…

Are you nuts?!?! Why would you give up a fully backwards compatible PS3 for the slim? My launch PS3 was stolen from my house. If I still had my old 60GB PS3 I would’ve kept it with no regrets. I traded in an 80GB PS3 that I bought like four or five months ago for the slim. I did it for a the extra harddrive space and quieter fan operation.
ive still got my launch 60gb, but im interested in how your upgrade/transfer to the slim went…
BC is so overrated… ive used it for about 20 minutes in 2 years!
doud fuck it i have the slim and i transfer the saved file with no problems and also the slim has quieter fan and more space and more beter than the fat one so go fuck your self
go fuck yourself? seriously, are you 12 years old? Or have you just been fucked in the ass so many times you’ve forgotten your manners?
