Sony announces some of their biggest news in years in dropping the PS3 to under 300 bucks and also introducing a new SKU, the PS3 Slim. What does MS do? They answer right back. The Xbox 360 Elite will now be $299.99. The only small difference is there will be no HDMI cable included. Go to monoprice.com and type in 3661 in the search bar. They are 10 bucks, not 70 as Best Buy would lead you to believe. The 360 Pro will be now $250, but will only be available until supplies run out. The Arcade version is down to $199.99. Sucks for me since I am gaming nerd and bought them all Launch Day for an exorbant amount of money.

Yeah me too. Had 2 Wii’s which I sold for the same price I bought them at. And 600 for my ps3, but you know what, it was worth every penny
so now the xbox is finally more expensive than the ps3 for less hardware. will the flaming now shift to making fun of it?

They are the same price. $299.99 for the Xbox Elite, and $299.99 for the PS3.
And yes, the hardware trade-off is the elephant in the room.
superficially same price. then of course the xbox live subscrip. just interested to see if the scrutiny shifts or if people were just being babies in the first place. xbox was all ready more expensive before the price drop if you got the same hardware and the online subscrip. now it is really lopsided.
Now, which one am I supposed to go for ? PS3 or XBox ?? The former is more aesthetically pleasing though….
