Chainsaw is included!
Almost a year after its release, Castle Crashers is still topping Major Nelson’s Xbox Live Arcade activity list. It has dropped down over previous months in lieu of new Arcade titles like Battlefield: 1943 and Trials HD, as well as the great fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Coming soon though will be downloadable content for Behemoth’s classic game in the form of new weapons, new animal orbs, and a few new playable characters. No news on the release date or price for the “Necromatic DLC”, but we’ll let you know as soon as we know! Knowing how Microsoft operates, they’ll charge their evil currency known as Microsoft points, instead of leaving the DLC free of charge for all Castle Crashers owners. Oh great, Microsoft is running the show.
New characters: Necromancer and The Cult Minion
New animal orb: Dragonhead – which is supposed to breathe red hot lava fire!
New weapons: The NG Skull Mace and a flippin’ chainsaw!
I personally can’t get enough of Castle Crashers as it is, but to add in a chainsaw? I can wait to get my revenge on those archers that keep shooting arrows at just the right time so I can’t get up. I just love the Dan Paladin’s original art style of this bloody great multiplayer game. The game has had its ups and downs in the past with early bugs (boomerang glitch) and multiplayer online issues, but if you haven’t tried this puppy out, give the demo a whirl, it will leave you wanting more.
Also to note, PS3 owners should be getting their hands on the PSN version for Castle Crashers soon as well…….
UPDATE: The Necromantic DLC Pack for Castle Crashers will be available Wed. August 26th, 2009 for 160 MS points! (That’s 2 dollars!)
