Hello Loot Ninja! First off, since Matt just mentioned he is gone on vacation, the rest of the Loot Ninja writers will reign supreme! HA! GameStop online is showing the ad for the PS3 Slim. Nothing new really, it’s been up a little before the PS3 slim was announced. Seen it! But under closer inspection it seems that the new Sony console will be released BEFORE the September 1st street date? How much in fact? Almost a whole week. All of you out there prying and scratching to get your hands on the new console can possibly do that August 25th. It’s unconfirmed at the moment if you will be able to just walk in and buy a PS3 Slim on August 25th, but I’ll keep you all informed. Wait, when is August 25th? Oh yeah, that’s tomorrow!
Early last week, Kaz Hirai, Playstation CEO, mentioned that the Slim would be available in some regions prior to Sept. 1st, so maybe the bigger regions are already getting shipments? Looks like a few people just might be heading over to GameStop tomorrow to check this out. If you took our poll you better be putting your money where your mouth is, and I expect some PS3 friend requests. NOW!
I should also mention that a few other online retailers don’t mention this street date that GameStop does (I checked Wal-Mart, Amazon, BestBuy, NewEgg, etc.).
Actually Amazon.com also lists the PS3 shipping 8/25.

Yep, Amazon has since changed their site.
Best Buy has it as an estimated arrival time now of 8/25 to 8/31.
NewEgg still has an ETA for 9/1.
Wal-Mart still says “Coming Soon”.
I’m waiting for Dell to start selling it since I have a nice credit account there
I ordered from sony style last week. The expected date to ship shown there was “on or about 8/25″.
It’s not just a rumor but Amazon is shipping the new PS3 Slim today. I’m looking for some people to review the new system on my new PS3 site. If your bored, come on over.
