Okay, after quite a few hours of gameplay, in my opinion, this map pack is some of Treyarch’s best work to date. Simply put, these maps are awesome, and totally worth the download.

Battery is my favorite so far. This map is really diverse, being chock-full of hard and soft cover, ambush points, and some great open areas for all out blast-fests. A well organized team will win on this map every time, because you can really control the flow of the game if you hold a small key area of the map, but I’ll let you find that area for yourself. Sniping is minimal on this map for the most part, but a skilled rifleman could really clean up, though it really favors Heavy/Light MG’s, and of course grenades.

The next map, Breach, is pretty large. This map is well suited for the bigger team games. There is an huge amount of hidey-holes and windows overlooking a large courtyard with fountains. Bouncing Betties are a must have on this map. On my first go-round, I got no less than 6 Bouncing Betty kills. There are a lot of rooms with only 2 ways in and out, so you can see the advantage. There is a lot of cross-fire on this map, as the buildings run down both sides of the map. Snipers will love this one, as it offers some huge long distance shooting opportunities. I played it 3 times with two average sized teams of about 5 players each, and there were a few stretches where you wouldn’t see anyone for a couple of minutes at a time, since the map is just so massive. Side note, for some reason, this map only came up 3 or 4 times in the 20 or so matches that I played. I don’t know why.

Revolution is a medium sized map with a lot of good medium range to close quarters combat. This map has some very tempting sniping opportunities too, but most of the good spots have several entrances/exits, and have pretty high traffic, if you are the run & gun type of sniper that shoots on the fly, this map is all yours. The noobs like to camp on top of the sewer pipes running over the alleyway, so check there often for a kill or three. I camped out in a few of the larger indoor areas, and had some good successes there. Lots of foot traffic, and the low ceilings take some of the danger of grenades out of the equation. Lots of Sub-Machine gun, grenade, and RPG action on this one.

Der Riese is hands down the best zombie map ever, and is laid out exceptionally well. Lots of  dead end hallways, and exit-less rooms really force you to memorize the map, because one wrong turn and you are toast once you reach the higher levels. The transporter machines are simply awesome, and really add a cool new dynamic. Here’s a tip: if you can, hit up the Juggernaut Machine, then lure a mass of zombies into the transporter with you. Once it goes off, you will get a ton of points as it kills all the zombies, while transporting you to safety. This isn’t particularly hard to do, as the zombies tend to follow you anyways, and it’s worth it for the points. This map is a total carnage-fest, and anyone that is a fan of the zombie maps will really like this one.

The only minor letdown for me was the complete lack of vehicles on all the maps. Overall though, I really couldn’t find anything major that I didn’t like about these new maps. I’m giving a 5 star rating to this run of DLC, and it’s definitely worth your 10 bucks.
