The third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War is scheduled for release today. This latest offering of n00b PWNING glory will feature three multiplayer maps (Battery, Revolution, and Breach), and one new Zombie map (Der Riese).
Below is the info provided by Treyarch:
Battery: Fight for ocean territory on an armored island surrounded by anti-ship mines and shore to ship cannons.
Revolution: Watch out for sniper fire as you defend Russia’s most coveted resource.
Breach: Keep a sharp eye out through the dense, overcast city streets, set at Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate. A lot of you will remember the original COD map “Dome” that takes place inside the Reichstag, which can be seen in the background, and on the fringes of ”Breach”.
Der Riese: This new zombie map is set in a Nazi research facility featuring the weapon upgrading Pack-A-Punch Machine. Use the teleporters to escape in an instant and fight to the death in pursuit of the map’s 10 new Zombie Achievements.
Remember all the mixed opinions when COD: WaW first came out? “It’s just Modern Warfare with a new paint job…” and stuff like that. Well, my opinion of this game, and Treyarch in general, has improved drastically after seeing everything that’s been put into all three of these additional map packs. They really didn’t just throw out some junk to appease the masses here. There are some well thought-out designs, and the maps flow really well. I think these will be a welcome addition, and will keep me coming back to COD: Waw until November 10th at least.
I would REALLY like to see some mini-campaign missions for each of the new maps, that would be killer. Or maybe a mini-zombie campaign combining all four zombie maps. That would be freaking sweet.
I only wonder if Infinity Ward will put this much into Map Packs for MW2 after it comes out? Here’s hoping…*BLARGH*

This review is lonely. *crickets*
These maps kick nine kinds of butt. Der Riese is one of the better zombie maps IMHO.
