Recently Nolan Bushnell spoke with the USA Today gaming blog, Game Hunters.   Don’t know who Game Hunters are? Don’t worry, that’s fine, you have us at Loot Ninja.  Don’t know who Nolan Bushnell is?  You are probably under 20.  For those lacking the knowledge, Nolan Bushnell is the guy who made a little title call Pong from a tiny company he founded called Atari.  If you don’t recognize that, then here is a freebie for you, the man made Chuck E. Cheese.  If you are still clueless then you are hopeless.

Long story short, Nolan is old.  Older than my parents old.  His current company Reality Gap refers to him as a “video game veteran”.  But he still loves games, especially playing games with his five kids.  The problem is a bunch of kids are whooping old man ass in these fast twitch first person shooters.  The Godfather of Video Games getting his ass handed to him in hate, what a shame.  NB doesn’t cry about it, he just makes a new game to level the playing field.

Hence we have Battleswarm: Field of Honor. A Nolan Bushnell RTS/FPS hybrid online free to play multiplayer on PC supported by micro-transactions.  That’s a mouthful.  An NB RTS/FPS Online FtP MT PC game.  Enjoy.  No comprende?  Ok, lets break it down.  It’s a game that allows NB to kick ass in the style he is best, Real Time Strategy, controlling aliens swarming over human soldiers.  But if he gets bored of that at any time he can switch to a First Person Shooter becoming a human fragging aliens.  It’s online, 6 players to a side, and it’s free to play or you can pay for special upgrades to assist you in xenocide.  Expect upgrades to be cheap too, less than a dollar cheap.

Battleswarm: Field of Honor is sounding pretty friggin’ awesome.  So awesome it’s almost Rad.  That’s right, I said it, Rad.  It would achieve Radness if we could get a Team Bushnell Clan versus Team Loot Ninja match going on.  NB plus kids, we can take them.  Rock out NB, rock out.
