When the trailing “s” gets replaced with a “z”, you know things are gonna to get outta control. Now that I have that out of the way, I can tell you about Appy Newz, a pseudo-game where you get to create tabloid-style covers to zing your friends. There are plenty of backgrounds, poses, faces, and objects to choose from, but you can always add your own pictures to any of those elements to give near infinite customization possibilities.

While it’s really fun the first few times, Appy Newz isn’t something you’ll be going back to on a daily basis. It’s nice to have handy when you want to make fun of a friend every now and again, so you might want to save some space on your iPhone or iPod Touch to keep this around. You never know what you might be able to create (like the images above). You can always go back and retouch any of your creations, save them to your Camera Roll, and email them out to friends or post them online. For what it laughter it brings, Appy Newz is worth the $2.99 entry fee. If you don’t believe me, at least grab the free Lite version.
