It seems that every couple weeks, Sony is releasing a new firmware for either the PSP or the PS3. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if the process wasn’t so tedious. I hope you’ve scheduled in an extra 10-20 minutes in your gaming day for updating your PS3 firmware if you have any intentions of playing online. The new v2.80 update is out today.
Yet again, this update doesn’t do anything except improve the “playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 format software.” That’s the same thing they say every time.
Maybe we can hold off on these updates a bit and roll out one a quarter or twice a year? Just saying, it would be a bit easier.

Scheduled in 10-20 minutes? Check. I have my gaming PC for that. Quit complaining, you’re talking 140m updates, that download relatively quickly. Check the whine and cheese at the door.

Unlike all the other FW updates this ones not mandatory you can still get online without update, so maybe Sony answered your praise.

Dude, you’re pathetic. Maybe you should try going a solid week without playing video games since you are so stupidly obsessed that 10-20 minutes every month or so is actually an interuption to you.
If I don’t feel like stairing at a screen during the update do you know what I do? I go make food, take the dog for a walk, take a crap, read for a whopping 10 minutes, go online and check my e-mail, clean the house, or do about 100 other little things.
That you complain about it taking a whopping 10 minutes out of your video game time every month or so is just pathetic.
I often spend the 20 minutes thinking to myself why I bought a Nintendo Wii.
I like to spend my 10 minutes playing my xbox 360. stupied ps3. :\
Since I’m using my PS3 for lotsa videos these days, this update is AOK with me.
Those 10-20 minutes smack of a slow connection; I’ve only spent that long on the last major FW that opened up the in-game XMB. 56k?
