Treyarch released new DLC for the insanely popular CoD:WaW game and we were lucky enough to get a chance to play it and I have to say it is one of the better map packs I have played in a long time. The DLC gives us 3 maps and one zombie level, each of which I will go into detail. I am not a big fan of paying for new content, but this map pack is good, very good. It made me want to play the game again and that is the true intention of DLC, besides a few bucks of course.
The first map I played was called Corrosion. It takes place in a run down Russian train yard. The map is of medium size and has plenty of great cover with all the random trains around. There a places to snipe from as well as close enough combat for shotguns.

Banzai takes place in a Japanese jungle and has several layers to it. Their is underground tunnels, a bridge, huts, a river, you name it. This is one of those maps you need to really know where you are going. Players can easily camp out and pick you off as you run across or under the bridge as well as setting traps for you at the caves and in the huts. This map was my favorite for Search and Destroy because some strategy is needed to stay alive here.

The third map, Sub Pens, is a partially destroyed, well, submarine holding pen. This map is the smallest of the three and by far the most frantic. I would grab a heavy machine gun, find a corner, a just spray away. There are some places for cover, but the map is generally very tight and offers little place to hide. There are some catwalks, but they are not too protective. This is best for a fast game of Deathmatch.

There is also another version of Nazi Zombies called Shi No Numa, which translates to Death Swamp. This time the Japanese army are the undead and will be coming at you. Some people love the Zombie mode because shooting zombies never gets old and some people do not like it because there is no end. Either way, check out this map variant. You do have to beat the game on at least normal, I think, to get this mode.
All in all, it is a great update to the game. The maps are varied enough and all look great. There are no new missions or anything that changes the game at all outside of the new Zombie mode, but I’m sure you got your sixty bucks worth of gaming out of WaW, what’s another 10 bucks? I’d grab it as soon as you can.

This is a solid amount of content for $10 as compared to some other map packs that have come out recently. Should hold gamers over until Modern Warfare 2 drops this Fall.
