The iPhone has proven that physics-based puzzle games work great on the go. One of the more recent entries into that venture is Magnificent Gizmos & Gadgets. For whatever reason, the title always makes me the think of Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. Anyway, I went in with low expectations and came out liking the game a great deal.

The basis of Magnificent Gizmos & Gadgets is to build a type of vehicle to get yourself from a starting location to an end location. You have a few types of pipes, bars, wheels, and motion balls to construct your vehicle, but you need to take into account the environment. You may have to bridge a gap or go up or down in elevation. If you absolutely can’t figure out what to do, you can use the in-game hint system to figure out what to build or even have the game show you exactly what to do.

There really isn’t much wrong with the game. It can get pretty tough in the middle to late levels for casual players, even with the hints. Still, it’s a very fun game. With 44 levels to play through, this is a great game to play quickly or sit down for a marathon session. You can grab the full game for $1.99 or download the Lite version for free. The Lite version is a must have for your iPhone and if you’re a fan of puzzle games, Magnificent Gizmos & Gadgets is terrific.
