I’m honestly not sure what words I can say that convey the awesomeness, epic scale, and sheer brutality of God of War 3. You’ve seen the trailers and gameplay demo videos (if you haven’t, check your gamer card at the door). I got to play the demo at E3 twice. Yes, I stood in line. Yes, I enjoyed every minute.

Most of the videos and screenshots you’ve seen don’t do God of War 3 justice. It looks amazing in person on a nice HD screen. I can’t vouch too much for the sound since it was louder than hell at the Sony booth, but from everything I’ve seen, it’ll be good. The controls are classic God of War, which is to say that’s spot on. You’ll have some new combos and moves with Kratos’ Blades as well as the Cerberus Gauntlets (the hammer fists as seen in the PSP title). It’s all bad ass. The brutality has been turned up a notch as you’ll see with ripping off enemy heads and spewing intestines on the floor. Could it be too much for some people? Tough call at this point.

There’s not much more I can say. This is a must buy game the very second it’s available. God of War 3 is a console-mover. If you don’t have a PS3, buy one for this game alone.
