It wouldn’t be the first time Sony dropped some functionality into the PS3 without letting the general gaming population know. While it’s not a universal feature, an astute member of the EU PlayStation Forums found an Invite to Game command in the XMB while playing Command & Conquer Red Alert 3. The same feature exists for Resident Evil 5.
Could this be a feature available to developers already? Hopefully more games will integrate the game invite feature, if this truly is part of the PS3 SDK. Maybe a couple older games could patch this in as well?

The ability has been there for a very long time (at least since in-game XMB). Developers just need to make use of it. At this point when a game does not offer it, don’t blame Sony – blame the developer.
