I been playing this today,and I had the same feeling with runescape, I just did not know what to do, and it was not fun. I’ll just stick with kingdom of loathing.
@ILikePopCans – First, KoL is awesome, props. But you should give Dead Frontier a chance. It was hard to get into the first time for me, so I did what you did and gave up on it. A few months later, I came back to it to give it another shot and pretty much got the hang of things. I’m inactive right now but I played every day for a few weeks, so it’s definitely worth another try.
I like what your saying Obeliskos, but the game dosn’t pull me in. I hate how the game dosn’t give you missions, and that bugs me. So when I was playing the game, I was thinking that all I do is explore the city, and find money and than I buy guns, so I can go deeper in the city. Than I could join a clan are something. But I never said I never play it again, maybe in some months time.

I already play this game, my account name is Jheese. I agree with most of the stuff “Hushnut” says because the lighting is terrible and the screen is really small. Which is why (a while ago) I made 2 forums under the Ideas and Suggestions column about the game needing better lighting and a bigger screen and (once again agreeing with “Hushnut”) all I got was a ton of replies saying if I don’t like then “stop playing” and “GTFO.” When it comes to interacting with other players while not in a multiplayer game, IT SUCKS! Because they’re all assholes but when it’s time to play multiplayer, most people are way nicer! For me; however, I would rate this game:
Graphics: 6
Game Play: 8
Learning Curve: 3 (even though I learned everything quickly)
Creativity: 5
That’s MY opinion though. I also see that there’s a lot of problems with the game, too. Since I spent more time playing this game then anyone here, I’d know.
1. Outpost attacks with more then 1400 people slows the server REALLY BADLY!
2. Outpost attack’s rooftop defence and main gate defence are noticably harder then junkyard defence.
3. Game creaters are trying to make 3 new games even though Dead Frontier is in Beta testing (focus less on Dead Frontier.)
4. Very explicit, game doesn’t block-out swears/profanities.
5. Moderators/admin are more like dictators.
6. Guest membership is sort of a waste of time, the reason why he didn’t get much loot is because guest have WAY less loot chance than gold membership players ($7.95 a month for gold.)
7. Marketplace’s/Dead Frontier’s economy sucks, 1 day something can be worth like $5000 the next, it’s worth $4000.
8. Any low level guns that require rifle bullets are cheap but the bullets are usually worth more than the gun itself. Also, since they’re low level guns, they’re less accurate and weak so you have to buy more really expensive ammo.
9. Buying credits are a rip-off if your a guest member.
*Yes I know it’s a lot to read but it’s all very true and important!
ok jheese, i agree that the screen could be bigger, but…
1. it’s a horror MMORPG… would you like it to be flowery and sunshine flooded with lots of cute fuzzy animals?
2. there is only 1 server so far and this is just beta, what do you expect?
3. who cares if its explicit? zombies eating people and gallons of blood arent?
4. alot of producers create more than 1 game at a time, blizzard for example!
5. thats how most mods/admins are on most games…
6. i just started playing last week and ive already found over $10,000 and alot of weapons, including 3 mastercraft items… theres a complex loot/aggro system in the game, maybe read up on it?
7. most economies are like this, not excluding the global economy
8. just dont use rifle bullets? ive gotten along fine using .32s, 9mms, .357s, and 20 gauges (most commonly dropped ammo)
9. you can buy credits in the marketplace from other players, this is not a ripoff at all, because godcrafted items help alot, +8+8+8 and +24+24 are very good stats on your stuff
