Reports are flying that Lost Planet 2 is exclusive to the Xbox 360, it’s not exclusive, it’s coming to the Atari 2600 and Colecovision. Who knows anymore. Edge was tired of the drama, so they asked Capcom to come clean.
All we can say at this time is that we’ve announced Lost Planet 2 for the 360. That’s all I can say.
Capcom’s press release was carefully worded to say the game is “being developed for the Xbox 360”. As the company stated last September, all future big titles would go multiplatform. Hell, the MT Platform, the proprietary engine used for Lost Planet 2, was made to facilitate cross platform development. Whether this ends up as a timed exclusive or Microsoft just secured the announcement timeframe, who knows at this point. I have a strong feeling, though, that Lost Planet 2 will end up on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC at some point.

It will hurt sales if it’s a timed exclusive. Meaning that if the Xbox get’s it first then the PC Gamers and PS3 Gamers, may not purchase the game out of spite.
Also, other games may be coming out to compete with the release of an old game.
I can’t see this staying exclusive anymore than the RE5 demo was exclusive to Xbox Live… for one week. It just doesn’t make sense to cut off revenue streams by only releasing on a single console, be it for full games or even expansion packs, in this financial climate. To me it seems fairly obvious that companies that can are going to maximize their product profitability by making sure to hit all consoles, and Capcom seems like a company that can.
I wont buy it because of this. i wonder how much money m$ payed them to make that comment.
their game isn’t even that good so i don’t give a fu!k
