Microsoft recently sent out a survey asking gamers how they feel about Achievements. Towards the end, one of the questions asked how you would feel about certain Achievement types. One of the options is fairly interesting.
Providing Achievements for non-gaming uses of your Xbox 360 (e.g., “The Film Buff: You’ve watched 50 DVD’s”)
It looks like Microsoft may be gauging interest to see if people would like Achievements to spread into other areas of their digital life. I’m not that big into Achievements or Trophies anyway, so I could care less. If they do implement something like this, though, there should definitely be something for having gone through 10 RRoD’s like I have. How about 20k Gamerscore points for that one?

Ouch! That would completely ruin the achievements/gamerscore system!
Meh that would pretty much ruin achievements.
By the way where’s Max been I’ve shot him a email or two but he didn’t respond. I’m guessing vacation in mexico.
I wouldn’t moan about it but I’m not for it. Achievements in gaming already make some create an unpleasant gaming scene by going out of ‘line’ to accomplish the achievement rather than play the game for it’s entertainment value.
Maybe a “scratched 5 discs in 5 days”.
I dont like this one, but look to the others. They are very cool and I really would love to see some of then implemented. =)
I want: B E F and G. =D~
i thought “acheivements” were for gaming acomplishments. SO glad i sold my 360 at least sony is doing one thing right and not doing this crap.
that really does ruin the gamerscore sstem thats already so flawed
Yeah, as if anyone would care about those lame PS3 trophies … lol! Not that I care about gamerscore too much, but trophies are most probably sony’s lamest attempt to copy something successfull ever.
Gosh, I really wonder where all the PS3 fanboys come from. I have literally NEVER met anyone who bought one. They are giving them away for free with a cheap mobile phone plan and still noone owns one here.
hahah yeah, how about 1,000 points for each rrod.
better yet, how about 1,000 microsoft points for each rrod.
better better yet, how about making gamer points redeemable for microsoft points.
ok /rant
Well, noone said there GOING to do it. Its just a idea there throwing out, and i really gay idea.
And yes, im a microsoft fan
Suck it
i’ll like but non-gamimg achievments should add to anoder score system( gamer score and xbox score, live score or console score)
dude you guys got quoted by Joystiq (xbox)… NICE
Anyways. just thought it was pretty sweet
