Bejeweled 2 Screen 2

If you’ve gotten this far in life without ever touching a Bejeweled game, you should go hide in a cave somewhere. PopCap Games has had a lock on the casual market for years with this series, and Bejeweled 2 is just as fun as you’d expect.

Bejeweled 2 takes a simple matching game and makes it damn fun. To match any three like colored jewels, hold X on the jewel you want to move and use the d-pad to move it. You can only move one spot, so it has to be a match. Simple gameplay, but it works.

The game starts out with four modes available with four more unlockable, so there is a decent amount of variety for your puzzle solving needs. Puzzle Mode is pretty fun, where you have to clear all gems off the screen to proceed. There is a ton of content there, so you could be playing for a very long time.

If you’re a fan of the series or just want a solid puzzle game for your PS3, Bejeweled 2 is the answer. If you’re just a casual fan of own the game elsewhere, you may or may not want to drop the $10 on it. Personally, I think the game is worth the cost of admission.

Overall: 7 out of 10
