In an odd series of events, users are reporting on the Gears of War forums that the digital certificates for the PC version of the game have expired. The news started pouring in on January 28th which means that the game will not launch if your machine’s system date is current.
Events like this prove why PC gaming is slowly going the way of the dodo. The people who purchased a legitimate version of the game are getting screwed because of the DRM while the folks who pirated the game get to keep on playing. We don’t condone pirating games but it’s a serious disservice to the industry when things of this nature take place.
I just have to ask one thing, who in the world is still playing Gears of War on the PC?

hahahaha, i agree. the only pc games worth playing (in my opinion) ar the MMORPG’s, i think in the next few years that will start to fade too though/
I’ve never been a computer game and personally it doesn’t seem all that interesting to me but my roommate seems to swear by them and would rather pick up COD5, left for dead or any fps for his pc rather than his 360. hes also a huge MMORPG fan too (he just got me into wow… expect thirty extra pounds by the time i get home for spring break matt)
If WoW makes you put on another 30 pounds, you need to get a new hobby. Put down the keyboard and mouse.
The only way it’ll work is if you shit on someone like Cartman in the South Park WoW episode.

I prefer PC gaming over anything else. It’s just simply better. Besides how would you play StarCraft on a console… oh wait they tried that on the N64. PC gaming may not be as popular as it once was but I dont think its going away.

However on the gamers are stock with drm. Game devs blame pircay and the fact they lose money on the pc.

Big companies go in to the retail stores buy up the best shelf space for console games. while pc games are push to the back and out of view.
You have game companies like EB games and best buy who make their money on uesed games.Their empoylees also tell lies about pc gaming.

the reason anyone would play an FPS on a PC vs a console is they want to be the very best at it. keyboard and mouse vs awkward controller, keyboard wins every time if the players are of nearly the same skill level.
